Awesome video Ty! It’s so good to see the Pros helping out amateurs...much appreciated! It would be great to see this same setup video for your eBuggy. I am never sure about how much brake to dial into the ESC vs Radio as well as drag brake. I know a lot comes down to personal preference but it would be very interesting to hear your logic behind your setup. Thanks Ty!

Unfortunately this is something that is nearly impossible to show in a video it is something you have to find through trial and error on the track.

Is all that chatter normal? Getting back into RC, and that was the first thing I noticed in the video. Back in the early 90's, all that glitchiness would have been troublesome, but maybe normal and just "noise" in today's modern electronics? EDIT: Upon further review, is that chatter caused by the MKS servos not being 100% compatible with the transmitter's protocol?

any ideas on fixing breaks that will randomly decide not to work? Like on the bench they work fine, and for most the run they work fine. But every now and then they just won't grab for whatever reason. As you can expect, this has nearly (havn't raced yet) resulted in crashes. either into my brother or i, or into some object. a quick release and re grab usually sorts it out but sometimes I don't have time to worry about that.
@tytessmann58427 жыл бұрын
This is probably not so much of an issue with the brakes as it is an issue with the receiver and/or the radio. I would first try a different receiver and then try a different servo.
@ilikerealflight7 жыл бұрын
Ty Tessmann ah ok, thx for the recommendation. I will definately give that a shot. It is an RTR so the receiver might be a little iffy. The servo is aftermarket and fairly new
@terryallen35507 жыл бұрын
If you cant afford it brother, try repositioning your horn then retrim that servo or reposition your lock collars if there's a bad spot on the servo you may be able to bypass that dead spot. Just an idea. Might be silly but I got excited about it lol. Best of luck racers :-) I'm gaining interest in this sport.

I know this is a very late follow up, but figured i should anyways. So, a little while ago i was going through the buggy, cleaning it up and stuff. Then i got to the linkage and found that i was able to get the top brake arm to jam in a way that would stop the servo short of where it was set to go, without even applying the brakes. A little bit of linkage tuning later, and there is no more jamming. I have yet to have the brakes fail on me since (Fingers crossed)

How strong of servo do you like for both your steering and your throttle / brake?
@tytessmann58427 жыл бұрын
I use the MKS 599 in both buggy and truggy for throttle, break and steering.

How do you set your breaks on your 1/10? 🤔
@tytessmann58427 жыл бұрын
First check on the website of the brand of ESC you are using for setups and then adjust from there on the track.
