Amazing. This deserves to be filmed in a motion capture rig and used in an official Star Trek series or movie, if only as a background ship. Give it a 5 or 6 second flyby in some space dock scene with other ships buzzing about. It would be right at home in a story set in the early 24th century.

I love how the nacelles actually resemble aircraft nacelles - as if the bussard collectors have a dual functionality as both something that attracts matter (the glowy part) as well as something that acts as an intake. I also love the two arboretum decks with that freestanding structures inside.

I, as a long time fan of yours, really appreciate this look into your design process and construction methods. I;m so glad you got to be a canon part of the Trek history these past few years. Terry Matalas was so right to include your work in the new Picard series and I look forward to the time that you're approached by someone like Corgi, Hallmark or Master Replicas (the new owners of Eaglemoss stuff) to make the range of these ships available in model form. I can definitely clear a whole shelf for these works of art. Thanks again Sir.....P.S......Keep up the stunning work.

Mr. Krause, I’ve been enjoying your construction videos so much. I have been noticing, and I love the way your designs solve problems. I see how on your ships, the problem of the original Constitution Class, where the pylons supporting the engine nacelles have ALWAYS been just to slim ( and probably suspended to high! ) you solved those problems with this terrific design. You also solved that other infamous problem with the dorsal neck connecting the saucer to the secondary hull. As lovers of these ships, I think most of us observe these design flaws , we get annoyed, but then we quickly overlook them to continue enjoying the things we do love. But you sir, SOLVE these issues! That’s very cool. You also have a great sense of style, and the patience of a Shaolin Monk. Please keep up the great work! V

The detail in this is so mind blowing. And for all the work done, a remarkably clean finished ship. So love how you did the lighting and the interiors seen through windows and the shuttle bays. Many months back, I saw a recreation model of the Voyager Bridge from an artist and modeller in Germany. The detail he put in it, lit consoles, bridge, ready room were amazing. For those who don't know, there isn't a physical model of the Voyager bridge from Star Trek VOY anywhere in existence. Anyway, his work reminds me of yours. Such unbelievable detail. You deserve some kind of an award or cash grant for this level of design and creation

It almost feels like it should have an 8 or 9 on the front of the registry and be part of the Odyssey design "family" (with related changes like the ball turrets to arrays) rather than "Lost Era", but that doesn't take away from the fact that it's a gorgeous design, whatever era.

Absolutely stunning!! I like these Bussard collectors with the flickering light effect emanating from deep inside. It suggests complex energy dynamics, without moving parts. I think it’s better than the motorized design in some of your other ships - moving parts in a warp engine just doesn’t feel right.

Admiral, at first glance and previously referencing only exterior orthographic drawings, I wasn't certain I liked the design language of the Endurancet. However, after watching your amazing presentation I really ``feel'' ' this ship -- and not in a "the design grew on me" way, rather: instantly. Your build beautifully explores her shapes, details and functions in such a way to expose the very necessity of Endurance's design. Amazing work and love your construction techniques (especially internal support, ribbing, film backings, (amazing) lighting and hull/aztec painting). Salute, Admiral Joey.

The only issue I have with this model is that the shuttle bays need doors which lower like a trucks tail gate to extend the shuttle bay landing area. The Shuttle Bay door(s) could be pulled up to protect the shuttle bay and ship from intrusion or attack.

Truly Amazing work and video documentation! How long does it take you to build one of your designs? How did you find/develop all of these different model making techniques and skills you use to build these models? Like learnng to work with a solder brass tubing? Electrical lighting skills? All of your paintwork skills? How did learn how to make your own molds to make solid molded seating for the shuttle? Do you own your own 3D printer and make your own 3D printed parts? How do you get those internal window images so small, yet so clear to put behind the parts of your model. I see they are film transparencies, but how did you produce these, get them made? You just seem to have many skill sets to accomplish making your own spaceship designs and them turning them into a very detailed reality as a model. I basically just know how to design and draw my own designs ( could never wrap my head around computer 3D modeling, either ), drawing them out orthographically, traditionally, using the very old fashioned way, via draughting table, paper/pencil/pen and ink on vellum or illustration board, then later, in the early 2000’s, using a Mac computer doing all of the orthographic drawings and perspective renders using Adobe Photoshop. I never honed my model making skills enough, as a young kid/adolescent, to build using sheet/tubing styrene plastics and model kits. When I was in my late teens, early adulthood, I constructed a lot of different props and models using a combination of chipboard/paperboard, corrugated box board, balsa/bass wood, paper and diffrent types of plastic films ( clear and coated ), but never got comfortable building models out of plastics. At, now, 60 years old, I wish I had the model building skills you have, as I can never find anyone on the Web, who has built my ship designs, to ever build them the way I have always intended them to be built and painted. You can see some of my starship designs and other sci-fi illustrations, in my Deviantart gallery area link below. Tap/click the link below www.deviantart.com/mpmdetroyat/gallery/all If you can see and tap/click into my scraps area, you can see a little bit of my paper/paperboard modeling skills in that area, as wel! Leave a comment, if you decide to check out my work. This is me Michel PM from the small group of Trek tech fans you get correspondance from time to time from all of us. Awseome and inspiring model work, Bill! Also, very nice and very professional looking KZbin videos, as well.

Hi Michel and thanks for your response! I've been building models for more than a few decades so much of this is from experience and trial and error. I've learned quite a bit of other tips and tricks from many tutorials right here on KZbin such as electronics soldering, resin casting and other paint weathering techniques. I do own a printer but prefer to subcontract out to others who have better equipment and the experience in doing that. The 35mm slides were done using an online service that allows you to upload your artwork or photos and they do the rest. It's relatively inexpensive.
