Wow I know Ron! This is so cool to see his trains back in the hands of an enthusiast!

Another fine example of a Tyco set. I have the engine and caboose, and most of the cars. It does run almost like new. Will be hunting to find the missing cars to make that set complete. I also have the Airplane flatcar, which is Athearn, but might actually be older than Blue-Box. Mine came in a Yellow box with the Nickel Plate flatcar, which has the correct "holder" for it. The Airplane is I believe a model of a V-Tail Bonanza. The trestle sets, the brown (wood) trestles came with the gray bridge, the gray trestle (steel) came with a black bridge.

I think the SD24 was the first EMD 6-axle turbo charged. It was easy to spot with the air filter bulge on the left side and the roof mounted air reservoirs. This was my first ever train set I got as a kid in 1977-ish.

That set is in exactly the same condition as my Rail Master 72 - missing track and some (but not all) of the accessories, the auto loader is broken, but the locomotive and other cars are nearly perfect (minus horns and handrails on the locomotive), and the locomotive runs excellent!

Very cool Dan! By the way, that plane is an Athearn blue box model, it was sold either separately or came with a flat car (not the one you got, though). I had to look it up to be sure, but I found an exact duplicate of it online both as a stand alone piece, and it also showed it with a Nickel Plate Road flat car. Now, I don't think the road name of the flat car makes that big of a difference, as it shows the plane on a Rio Grande car as well. Anyway, hope this helps!

Looks like a partial Comin' Round The Mountain set (plus a few extras). No, the plane and that flat car, plus the Bachmann track is not part of the set - I think the rest of the stuff is, though.
