These interest rates are killing us. Consumers are buying everyday goods on credit. They keep them high to deter spending, but what are people supposed to do if they need groceries, gas, and so on? A lot of small businesses use credit. I work for a dealership people are buying cars and repairs on credit. It has slowed significantly, but people and businesses still need these things and are getting killed in the process. They need to bring that rate down asap and find a happy medium.
@joehenry954623 сағат бұрын
The problem lies in the rapid devaluation of the dollar. If you buy something on credit today, and pay it off in a year, at a 10% annual rate. However, inflation went up 20%, the lender loses let’s say 10% on their return. So they have to keep the interest rates higher to earn a profit and also dissuade borrowing. So the higher the inflation, the higher the interest rates.
@tydiriumhanger132020 сағат бұрын

Because putting tariffs in place won't stop the flow of fentanyl. Drug traffickers already lose millions of dollars per year in seized drugs and still make enough profit to make that loss sustainable. Another 10-25% isn't going to stop them. Also most of the illegal drugs that enter the U.S. comes through unofficial ports of entry to bypass customs altogether. Putting blanket tariffs in place is like blowing up your neighborhood because your neighbor's dogs barks too much. It does way more harm than good.

People can blame tariffs, inflation, bird flu, etc. These toy companies know who is buying product. It's not parents buying for kids anymore. Adult consumers control the market. Want eggs to go down? STOP buying them. Toy prices too high? Quit buying them. The toy market is a adult market now and its adjusted for such. You think Mattel or Hasbro will drop prices when inflation is back to a normal level? Hell no! Everybody buys eggs. The price for eggs will be corrected. Everybody doesn't buy over priced Transformers or GI JOE toys and as long as consumers keep paying ridiculous prices they'll keep raising it.
