I also got both of them, although I bought 4 of the toon version and 2 of the toy deco. I plan of giving 2 of the toon version as Christmas gifts later this year and if I had waited, it might sell out. The others, I'm keeping 1 of each in package while opening up the other package to play with. They both look phenomenal but, I prefer the toon version.

I got the toon one & it sucks they made it before the 86 prime came out as it fits great with mainline & ER prime but now he is a bit to short but it’s probably the only gun Megs we will get in mainline size!

Ordered this guy a couple weeks ago, not in hand yet. I usually prefer toy decos, but I got standard one because of the crotch you mentioned, but also because the toy version looks like he'd really stick out with the mainline. Hasbro owes NewAge big on this one. This figure single handedly got me back into the CHUGlife. I'll bet I'm not the only one either.

• Trigger thighs: better than MP5's trigger hollow shins... • Just like it was with their Agamenmnon (Legends scale Megatron), the extended fusion cannon is for being the scope in gun mode; the regular collapsed version is the actual robot mode fusion cannon. • And it seems that my only option right now is that EX version; looks like everyone is currently sold out of the regular show color version. 🤷🏽‍♂️🤔🤨🧐😒😑 • On the downside, they ARE charging a lot to not be including the stock & silencer...

It’s a nice figure… both or them… I bought both but have only received one… I did t have the QC issues I saw some reviewer complaining about… I think someone will upscale it to please the masses.

Over $100 for a chug figure is a bit much, for me. Newage has great great figures, they just cost a little too much for the size.

It is pricey but if you factor in that Hasbro will never make this and that it would need an upgrade kit to improve it because they rarely make anything that doesn't need gap fillers or some necessary accessory, it almost is about the same. I hope they do other G1 characters.

Cool, fun overall video - always enjoy your candor and approach. So, it’s the best one can get for scaling & w/ a gun mode *right now*. I’d rather wait for another 3rd party company who will improve on what NewAge has done. For me, I’ll continue to use my 35th anniversary version (which I like lol) or on-the-way Infinite Transformation IT-01 Emperor of Destruction as Megatron is supposed to be significantly larger in both height & girth (eww lol) over OP. But it is a decent figure - granted not being an intuitive transformation is no bueno. Also, the cost is a little too much considering the negatives. But for those who are impatient and/or don’t care, have at it.

Damn. Both versions look great. If I get one, it will be the standard version though. The EX would look great next to my surviving G1 Megatron but I'd rather have the other one. I don't mid that it's slightly smaller than the Commander Optimus. It will look great next to my Earthrise and even Classics Optimus. Plus he's a GUN Megatron. I would not mind double dipping if they do make one to scale with the Commander Optimus though...... Damn! The EX alt mode would look GREAT next to my G1 Megs.

I saw a comparison pic of Romulus with the Missing Link Prime. Romulus is a bit taller than Prime...
