The magic square onslaught repaint is more than a slight recolor like Brawl. The previous one was teal/turquoise which was the wrong color. The original US cartoon version was this dark blue so I'm glad they finally corrected it. Just annoyed that they didn't do it right the first time.

i wish they would make these BATMAN TAS figures in the SAME scale as the 1990s figures, just with better articulation. I'd buy them if they did. there's no excuse to make them larger

I think domestic retailers canceled ft-21 due to price increase. It's been so long since it was originally announced and like everything else the price has gone up. Jada is crushing it with their action figures. Happy Father's day

No matter how many times i see the G1 Universe Optimus, i cannot wrap my head around its size. It looks like it'll be the size of Earthrise Trailbreaker, Sideswipe etc. Weird!

I think the g1 universe prime was a great idea. If it’s small that’s a minus, but still a great idea. I’d be surprised if the generations selects toys don’t get reduced in price, they usually make too many,

Thx for the Sunday news updates as always! The G1 United Optimus strikes me as Hasbro jumping on the popular trend wave of better articulated “old skool” nostalgic properties, very similar to Mattel’s updated articulated MOTU Origins. If Hasbro expands this approach for other G1-esque figures, I’ll bite. I suspect that the deluxe scale is a price thing, but if they stick to this scale with more seekers and Dinobots, I’m in.

Mcfarlane’s 7” line is not that easy to get anymore at least not when theyre in preorder mode. Mcfarlane cut production amounts and alot more people are buying this line now since he was allowed to finally start putting out classic versions as he sees fit. Those sell out fast and he’s a great business man so expect much more variety from here on. Once the figures release you can usually get it one way or the other. No matter what you think about this line, you have to admit it’s cool to see characters like Ambush Bug and Sgt Rock showing at retail. I just picked up the Bug wave and I think this may be the first one. I dont know if Classics or DC Direct had one or not. I was buying when both Hasbro and Mattel had the license and dont remember him although I only got Batman universe characters in those days.

I will say this first. I do like the legacy G1 Optimus. But I don't like that they decided to release the samish Optiums twice in one year. If they where going to release Two G1 Optimuses then they should have given us Missing link and a Studio Series 86 or at least an updated Toon version even if it was a voyager and saved the Legacy G1 toy version for a later release for the people that missed out on Missing link Optimus.

With regards to the not-Missing Link G1 deluxe Optimus, i think this opens up the possibility for releasing the G1 toys all under the same scale AND at an affordable price. where as before you had someone like Soundwave and Blaster tower over Optimus, now they can be scaled down to a deluxe and not look weird. And for bots that should be bigger, like the Dinobots, they can be the smaller Voyagers (deluxe +) like SS86 Ironhide, HotRod, etc) or just make them full size Voyagers. The core class can be used for the mini bots.

If so, comparing the playmates versions of chun li or ryu to jadatoys is a wider gap in difference than comparing those playmates turtles to neca or super7 ultimates. The jadatoys SF are by far better in aesthetic accuracy and in articulation than the playmates SF versions

Happy Father’s Day! I was gonna pass, but paused the video to preorder the toxic avenger. I have to say, I haven’t been buying anything Star Wars lately and this new show isn’t helping. Talk about god awful. Now all we’ll get is the usual repaints and everything focused on this show that honestly doesn’t even feel like Star Wars.
