Davie , thanks for the informative tying videos and beautiful patterns , very inspirational. Not sure if you’ve ever considered doing a “tie-and-catch” video , fishing with a fly you tie at the beginning ? Would love to see something like that!

Couldn’t agree more about tearing the feather fibers away vs cutting them free when making wings on flies. A great tip that made a tremendous difference for me as well when I was learning to set wings after watching several of your videos when I first started tying. Great video, fly, and tying tips as always!

My first ever tie that was instructed for me was this one, in about 2002... but it has silver dub, I still have it.

Good Evening, Davie, I am watching this video and see the detail you put into the fly with ease, just a pity we in SA don't see this quality at all I went to my tackle store after watching you, well walked out with nothing in hand.........they are not your quality!

Lovely fly Davie looks a great attractor. Thanks for the tying. As a matter of interest how do you select the feathers for the wings? I have hen and cock wing selections but struggle with the wings for the flies.

A gold wire rib would help with those little loch fish teeth!

I hope everyone knows that the original muddler minnow was developed in 1936 by Dave Gapen of Minnesota to catch brook trout in Canada. Funny how so many originals are changed slightly and new names are placed on them as though they invented it. But because Ford invented the automobile not all automobiles are call fords. So it is what it is.

Everytime you amaze me for that material control. So impressive. Would you use it like a regular muddler fishing small rivers also?
