This pattern has become one of my favourite dry's during past few year's! Last trip something like 15 trouts and I expect same tomorrow👍 I specially like, that i can fish with this fly in rapids, without loosing sight from the fly. It floats, like nothing else! 👌

very nice. i find getting the proportions right on ants can be difficult but i like the way you choose to omit the dubbing at the head section. it really helps to exaggerate and define the profile. looks like it's going to sit beautifully in the water too

Hi Davie, another useful pattern, many thanks. Anyway I don't want to jinx it, but I just wanted to warn you to use some protective glasses when illuminating the UV-resin. OK, I did not measure the UV content of the spectrum of the emission of such LEDs but believe me, a lot of things are still not revealed about UV radiation. It turned out just some years ago that UV-B, which was thought of being harmless is also dangerous to the visual system. At least turn your eyes off when using the torch.

Hi Davie, very good pattern. Great video as usual. Question though: why don't you use dumbing as well on the front part of the antbody? Regards

Hi Davie. I would like to know what foam are you using. It looks like some kind of closed cell foam, but most foams on the market are opened cell wich soaks in water. Thanks . u'r the man

Hi Gerry, I have attached a link to the black foam that I used in the video, all you have to do it cut it to suit the pattern you are tying.. All the very best Davie.. www.fishersdirect.com/veniard-micro-cellular-plastazote-blocks-17807-p.asp?_=&variantid=17808

Searched the 'net for "Veniards" and came upon a few dozen websites that are supposed to carry the 'foam' you used....... Seems they are all based on the other side of the pond? You probably are getting tired of telling folks where to get it, but do you have a vendor you'd recommend? Also, was wondering how these flies hold up? As in, do the fish tear these up pretty quick? Thanks! Enjoying your tying!

Hi Scott Butler, I'm sure many of the foams that you can buy would be very similar to the one that I used in the video but just incase they are not then I have attached a link to the stockist list of Veniards which I hope will show you someone that you could use to buy the foam from...The foam does last a few fish though it does wear much the same as any other that I've used over the years.. Please let me know how you get on... All the very best Davie www.veniard.com/stockists.asp
