Brilliant looking fly pattern

Tied and tried some of these on the Nevada side of the Truckee River. Which has it's best dry fly fishing mid-winter. I must have been blessed with good Karma and hit the BWO hatch perfectly. Caught a nice rainbow on my 2nd cast. Followed by more until the hatch stopped an hour later. Thanks for the great pattern.

Looks like the wind will push right through this light dressing. The new wing material looks very interesting. Thanks Davie!!

Great Fly, reminds me of the Dynamite Harry. Different materials but appears to have that super thin profile. Will be tying a few up. Thank you for sharing your talents and ideas 👍🪰

That looks pretty neat considering the materials. I think my first go at that would look like something I found under the couch.

The Ultra Yarn does have a shaggy look and I noticed the glistening when I was fishing it. But I really think that shaggy look gives the impression of movement. I'll try the open wraps of CDC. That looks fantastic.

Minimalist, interesting. I wonder if tying silk would help, I might try it. 😊

If that stuff really does want to float, it'll be a winner. Might work on the Dynamite Harry patterns, too.

Have a DH caddis floating still on day 9. A coffee mug isn’t the same as a stream but still 9 days and counting. I fished a F fly version a couple of weeks ago and it floated slimed well. Low water and very low flows so the trout had a long time to look at them. Worked the trick as Davie would say.

Hi @puccini4530, It's ideal for using on the Dynamite Harry pattern, I only used it on two or three of the patterns I've tyed but I will be using it on a few more as it works really well..I'm glad you liked the fly.. All the very best Davie
A lot of fly tiers have written books, do you have a book Davie? If not you should!! These patterns you tie look awesome and work.

I agree ! Davies s flies always gather the essential materials together in a great style, going to artistic but fully functionnal fishing Flies. Davies s video are high quality and contain all the necessary explanations. A book would be a must.😊

Hey Davie. Could you do a buffalo Midge? or if you tie up a Midge pattern of your choice that works well for the winter time season that would be great too! Thank you very much!

How do I enter the monthly draw?
@DavieMcPhail6 ай бұрын
Hi @parnellbursey9112 I have a PayPal donation button on my KZbin homepage so when someone donates over that month I send them a number for that months draw. It has allowed me to work mainly on filming and tying for the channel and as well helped me to keep up to date with equipment especially with filming outside..Thank you for asking.. All the very best Davie
