I never thought about trimming herl, can’t wait to try it.

Diawls have been working really well for me lately, even when fished on the surface! This one will be joining the team! Thanks Davie

Loved the look of this fly as soon as in saw it. Tied some up and it's been a great fly on a dropper under a suspended buzzer.

Has to be one of the best Diawl Bach patterns out there!! Cheers Davey

No problem Davie. I so look forward on a daily basis for you to put videos on youtube. How do you choose a left and right wing from a peacock herl full tail please? Would you do a video for me showing this especially the actual cutting of the wings, as this in so many of your flies are done below the camera.

Another great one Davie, Thanks again. The daiwl-bach is not a common pattern over here in the US, but I've been using it since you did the original last year. It is really a productive pattern for me and I especially like the expression on peoples faces when I tell them what I'm using. All the Best, Mark

Hi Davie, Thanks for all your excellent videos, learning from them has helped me improve my tying a lot since I started a few months ago. I think this is a nice variation on the diawl bach that I'd like to tie, but am finding it impossible to find the red peacock herl, I've tried ebay, and asking in my local tackle shop, and all the websites I buy materials from but no-one has it. Do you have any more information on where you got yours from, or what brand was on the packet? Cheers, Paul

hello Davie, are the legs really needed? I mean, would the fish see them?
@DavieMcPhail9 жыл бұрын
Hi Geert Vanmol, I would say it does add movement to the fly but I remember fishing a diawl-bach to a point that I was left with very little material on the hook and it still kept catching fish, so it's up to you as I'm sure it will still work... All the very best Davie

Hi Dewi Jones, It should be on top but you are right it does look like a couple of fibres are on the side which I didn't notice thanks for saying so...ATB Davie
