Pinky jigs that I made in the early 60,s kicked butt ! Plenty of bait fish , Ciscoe, shad , small carp , and sunfish , perch were the main food source and any thing that looked different got their attention ! 1/6 th ounce jig even got me a 9 lb Northern pike !

You make it look so easy! It takes a lot of talent to not only do something so well but make it look effortless. I really think I could do this, and lord knows I love catching bluegill/sunnies! Thank you!

Bought my Renzetti traveler vise and tools this past Saturday. I have jig heads, paint, and materials ordered and shipping today. I’ve enjoyed all your beginner videos and I’m going to give these jigs a shot first…orange/black and a chartreuse/black. The whip finishing is going to be the biggest challenge I believe. Thanks for all of your hard work and efforts you put into all of your videos. I know I’ll have more questions once I get started.

For some reason, this video showed up in my recommended. I fish so I decided to check it out. Nice job. Between the music and your monotone voice it's like Bob Ross decided to tie flies.

Easy pattern, can be used anywhere they are. Even though you may have partially said it but my initial thought was some small size of a crawdad. Going to tie some! Thanks for sharing.

Mustache not sure if you are familiar with a bait called the keystone. This bait is made by Renoski and is resembles a very small minnow but it is killer on bluegill and shellcracker. Anyway, over the years this small plastic bait has been made with softer plastic and it tears up really easy. I came up with making this bait with UV gel to build up the minnow profile and it works extremely well. Whats unique about using UV gel is you can use sharpie magic markers and come up with identical color schemes the original bait has. The most effect color I have found is perch colored. I tie a bluegill and shellcracker that is similar to the one you shared on this video and it works but the overall profile of that keystone minnow is something special. As always, thanks for sharing and you are doing fantastic with your channel. Take care, tight lines and thanks for sharing.

By the way if you ever need any materials I will be more happy to send you some. Materials these days are getting more expensive and with production being delayed it is board finding common colors and patterns. I know it costs you money and it isn't cheep. Been tying for 20-25 years so you can imagine my stock pile. Whatever you need just let me know. I enjoy seeing the younger generation getting I to lute design. Take care.

Color is very important if I find a pattern that I like I will use as many colors as possible on that same pattern. I find for best results cycle through the patterns until you find a pattern that the fish are interested in. Then cycle through the colors all day long because I start at 7 a.m. if I have not found a good pattern by noon. I usually find that it was a very bright night last night. Time to switch to sent bait, the Predators are sleeping. So it is time to attract the scroungers and the herbivores.

If you’re looking for a cheap starter vise that’s pretty good quality, I’d got with the Colorado Anglers Super Vise 103. For a pricier vise that you shouldn’t have to upgrade I’d get a Renzetti. I personally use a Renzetti Traveler, but I started with the Colorado Anglers one. Let me know if you have anymore questions, and good luck!
