Tying the Claret Shipmans Dry fly

A quick to tie a very effective emerging buzzer pattern .Fished dry or subsurface. Superb in all UK still waters when the fish are feeding up high.
Hook : B170 Sz 12
Thread : UTC Black 70
Breathers : White aero wing or similar
Rib : Pearl Mylar #14
Body : Claret seals fur

My top catching fly on stillwater particularly in black 14 or 16, add a touch of gink cast in and let it drift on the breeze and watch for the take. Enjoy. Tight lines

Doe sit have to be seals fur or would squirrel dubbing be okay? I'm new to tying.

Squirrel is superb too . Its very similar . lays a little tighter on the hook for a slimmer profile . Have a look at the Scruffy Dubbing range if you prefer squirrel , Andrew has some brilliant colours .
