Hi Davie, I have watched this video several times now. Thank you for sharing an excellent example of how much thought and technique is put into every turn of thread on the hook… Plus there are so many great lessons explained here, even with a simple fly pattern such as this Greentail. Best regards, Wayne 😀👍

I stumbled across mr pritts work not long ago and I love the simplicity and amazing functionality of those patterns I’d love to see you tie the light silverhorns one of my absolute favorite go to wets great fly and video cheers

Beautiful and simple flies and I'm especially enjoying your the wet fly tying because I want to get good at them. I'd love to see (now just starting to tie wets myself) how exactly you end the hackle wrapping with your tying thread. You do something at a 90 degree but I'm not 100% clear on that. I can watch your tying videos over an over and appreciate them all. Thanks Davie!

Davie... wow man it is so awesome that you have a printed copy of the book North Country Flies. I have a PDF version of the book but it is not the same as having pages to turn.. I have taken an interest in the old flies and their history. Thanks for making these videos. There is a beauty in the simplicity. My curiosity was sparked a few couple of years ago; as the fly tying fire started to burn in my belly, when i stumbled on a Stephen Cheetham video where he describes these flies and their fishing techniques, (i was hooked) so it launch me on a search for all things north country flies, what they were.. thanks again J

Hi Jeff, I'm glad you enjoy the videos and these flies as I do enjoy tying them when I get a chance, simple but very effective patterns...I got my copy off Ebay for just £12 so I'm sure if you look you will find one..The first book that I ever bought when I started tying was called Let's Fish the Clyde by Robert Sharp and it's still my favourite though it can be quite hard to find as it has never been reprinted, another is Clyde Style Flies by John Reid it is also a very good book which has been reprinted and easier to find....I did a search for you and found a copy for only £4.95 which is a great price as the original could cost you near £100 before it was reprinted...www.amazon.co.uk/Clyde-Style-Flies-Dressings-John-Reid/dp/0715353527 Thank for all the kind words.. All the very best Davie...

Davie, have you ever heard of a "Shaggy Whaup"? It was mentioned a lot in "Adventures of a Sporting Angler" and would be good fun to fish in some of the lochs mentioned in the book.
