Tied some of these last night with breathers and some with white foam. Fished them today and they caught 6 out of the 7 fish caught today. Great fly and easier for me to tie than a klinkhammer.

A KLINKHAMMER HOOK !!!!! or STRIP YOUR OWN 😉 I use an eraser and rub it against the grain and the barbules comes off very easyly. much cheeper this way. I would use a blinker 16-20 .

without a hackle this fly will not float and sink like a rock !

Hi Kenneth. There are loads of flies that at designed to float without a hackle. Eg. Shipmans, DHE etc. they are all designed to sit lower in the surface film than a hackled pattern. At times this can definitely turn refusals into solid hook ups. The material used in this particular pattern and the hook choice ensure it floats. Give it a go.
