Tight line is excellent. I also like the feather bender and Davie McFail. Anybody else have a favorite or two worth sharing?

Flyfishfood is good for a laugh as well as a tie.

@@gregb8824 I learned most of what I know from Fly Fish Food! I got my vice and a lot of my materials from their brick and mortar shop too.

Awesome! Sure is a useful technique to get that buggy thorax without all the brushing out. Thanks!

Awesome video tim! I really enjoyed meeting you at the fly fishing show in denver. I was the kid who liked to tie euro nymphs! Again, thank you for giving me the pleasure of meeting you! Thanks, -Michael. P.S, could you do a video on either a ray Charles scud,or a backstabber carp fly?

I first thought that tinsel was wire and was very shocked when you used scissors on them.

Hi Tim why do you prefer using pheasant tail fibres for the tail as opposed to fibres off the mask for the tails?thank you
@tightlinevideo4 жыл бұрын
Two reasons. First, I am an inherently lazy tier. If I can tie in one material rather than two, I'll do it. In this case, I'm using the same clump of pheasant tail for the wing case as I do for the tail. Second, I've never liked the look of guard hairs as a tail on a Hare's Ear Nymph. I know it is the traditional way of tying them but I think the pheasant tail fibers look far more natural.

I use a ladies makeup powder brush. I have one that's black and one that's tan. The reason I prefer it is because it's VERY durable, especially compared with pheasant tail.

If only I could tie RGHE's that quick IRL! Tim, what thread do you like to use for your split loops?

Can you tie a British Columbia Stillwater fly? Maybe a chironimid pattern or a micro leech?
