I've always said my hair was meant to be locked. I definitely have 4c texture. My hair was locked in 6 months 😂. My new growth grows right into my locs, I love it! I can go 10-12 weeks between retwists. But after that, it gets rough lol

Girl! 😂😅 after my last retie I realized I'm not too hung up on the back. The locs already cover themselves BUT I make sure to clean the parts in the front section and call it a day... I just spent some time with my mirror and did my front now I'm about to watch some videos and start my retie on the back.

The maintenance really isn’t bad as long as you stay on top of it. I have 686 (I started with 706 but a lot have been combined bc they were too small) if I go get my hair done every 8 weeks it takes about 4 hrs each time. For me at least, 4 hrs 6x a year (24 hrs a year) isn’t too bad compared to the hours I spent washing and styling as a lose natural. I always suggest ppl start small bc you can always combine but it’s almost impossible to separate. I hope you end up with locs you love. The great thing about small locs is you can use curl formers or rollers to curl them and they look just. Like. Natural. Hair. So many people have complimented my “afro” only to have me tell them that they were locs I curled. The curls don’t look 4c, more so 3c/4a ringlet curls but they’re so beautiful and last for weeks.

@@Sailorlluna 706 omg. your hair must be really thick! did you get them installed initially or did you diy?
@Sailorlluna2 жыл бұрын
@@ambrosia1917 ohhh I had them installed initially because I wanted it to be interlocked from top to bottom instead of just starting with twists or braids. The parts were so tiny there was just no way I could do the back of my head.
@Sailorlluna2 жыл бұрын
@@ambrosia1917 also, yes my hair is extremely dense and thick. Before locs it was a curse to wash and style. Now I can wash my hair in 15 minutes and styling is as simply as placing a few bobby pins or putting my hair in a bun. I’m never going back. The freedom you get is life changing. Now if someone invites me to do something I don’t have to be concerned about having my hair done.

Libraries would sell books from time to time. So the person who you got it from might have purchased a lot of the books and are reselling them. You would see this in the older not in print books.

Sometimes I wish I'd done my locs smaller. I have 400 of them but I was super concerned about them thinning if they were too tiny. I love your locs so much. I've got 4c hair and I don't go beyond 5 weeks. When I did go longer my locs would start to connect at the roots and I would have to break or cut small strands. No good, that can make locs thin from what I have read.

Same! I also have 400 locs (wish I would've went smaller since I was aiming for 500 to 600 locs) and they tend to "marry" at the root. Trying to figure out a maintenance schedule. All in all, love my journey so far! 1 month and 1 week in.
@daffodil45002 жыл бұрын
I have almost 500, 1 year and 3 months in. I wish I had gone smaller and didn't do the required grid when I started. I really really space out my retie times from time to time. I can go 2-3.5 months without reties. I have 4c hair also and my hair actually thrives better. They thrive so much, I've gotten 3 new locs😂😂😂. To prevent the marrying, moisturize and separate as often as possible. I'm thinking of taking them down and starting over though because my hard headed ass changed my rotation from a 3pt to a 2pt and now I have holes in few.

I have 4a/4b hair (4b in back, 3c/4a in front and i just hit the year mark and none of my locks have fully locked… not even close. I just recently waited 8 weeks to get a retie and I looked crazy the last few weeks bc of how frizzy my hair grows in. This is the first time in my life I can remember disliking my looser texture hair. I can’t wait for these ends to close up and for this frizz to go away 😅

@@TyKaraAnn Around here, the public library will have quarterly book sales. At the sales, anyone in the community can purchase decommissioned library books (the prices are really, really good). The proceeds would then be used to buy new library materials (e.g. when patrons recommend books or movies to be added to the library's catalog). Most books still have those library stamp marks on the edges, but the call number stickers, etc. would have been removed prior to the sale. Hopefully someone just resold a decommissioned GA library book and it eventually made its way to TX. 🤠

About the book from the library. libraries often have books sales where they sell off magazines and slightly damaged books or books they not longer want to keep to the public. so its ends back up in circulation at book stores and stuff.
