this What-if is very interesting, i think during the 7 year peace, Goku has more control over his LSSJ form and Gohan and Vegeta achieve SSJ2 and master that form during that time, Piccolo as well wants to become stronger and then train with the trio. Trunks and Goten master SSJ and want to become even stronger making those 2 more significant in the Buu arc

Also I have a suggestion, since Goku still can’t control Legendary Super Saiyan, have him improve and raise the level of his Kaioken to 100, since that gives him the same multiplier as ssj2, Kaioken would be a great substitute since lssj most likely is stronger than. And since kaioken requires ki control and a calm mind, have Goku use these principles to eventually control and master Legendary Super Saiyan. Just food for thought

What If Gohan was the Legendary Super Saiyan instead of SSJ2 I mean if you look back, he was full of rage and merciless wanting to torture Cell.

Now I don’t think it would change much at all overall, as basically all the characters were just used as distractions for a second or fodder to throw at cell later, but I think it needed to be a bigger point that when cell is absorbing energy, he’s killing you. Not in a sense of draining your energy to nothing and leaving your body lifeless type that was more or less being described here, but Cell was reducing people to nothing. No body left, no energy left, think back to what Piccolos arm was like during their fight. If Piccolo couldn’t regenerate, he would straight up not have that arm. There is no “absorb energy and they are nearly dead” they would die. Like I said, it doesn’t change the overall story much, Piccolo, trunks, Tien, Vegeta all die cell first. Goku wakes up confused on where their energy went and what happened, Goku Gohan and Krillin arrive and Cell is kind of just excited to use his new power against the guy he believes to be the strongest. The 3 team against Cell and in the end Krillin falls during the skirmish, this send Gohan into a rage and Goku is struggling to hold himself back too. Gohan becomes a Super saiyan and rushes Cell, but is easily tossed aside as Cell can see Gokus struggle. Cell decides to egg him on and when Goku is almost at his breaking point, Cell kills Gohan. Rest of the story is the same then, Goku easily kills Cell, is fatigued by the new form still and has a bit more Ki control so he’s not destroying the entire earth after transforming, and eventually he just collapses. Popo, Dende, dragon balls, yada yada every is back, Goku decides he wants to work in the time chamber to control the new form during the newly found peace.

@Tylearn 1) I thought that the "Green" in the Legendary SSJ, was only because of the control bracelet that Broly wore. 2) I thought that the "LSSJ" state was actually Broly's version of "Grade 3", so would Goku still be able to go SSJ Grade 1, before there is a stage for SSJ Grade 3/LSSJ? 3) If Goku in Timeline 2/Main Timeline had suggested for Future Trunks (timeline 1) to train in the HBTC for His future androids (and Cell)... wouldn't the Goku in the "Unseen Timeline" (Timeline 4) have the same suggestion (for at least the future android twins since there wasnt a "Cell" to come to that Unseen timeline for that Goku to know about)?... so if Timeline 3's Trunks would have been strong enough as an SSJ grade 2 for the androids... how the hfil was Cell (3) STILL able to take his Time Machine into the Main timeline (timeline 2)?!
