When I listen to his old songs, I get so much hope! Now, I'm sorry if I'm taking this too much from a Christian perspective (sorry if this part may annoy you, I don't mean to force you to be a Christian or something), but I think that in his darkest times when he sang this album, he usually talked to God and asked him to help him (again, I'm not sure if this, I'm just saying what I think.
