I notcied Most guys 40 and up have a hard time getting into Tyler's music. Which is wild considering how a lot of his music is inspired by older artist. And they say they want a unique artist that doesn't sound the same. Tyler's been different since day 1 and only progressed in his own unique way. Ken fits that description of say they want new but don't like new

I really wanted to see what you guys thought about Tyler’s mom revealing that she intentionally kept Tyler away from his father all this time on this album. Especially given that his father not being in his life is a big part of him being the artist he is today + It really changes how you view certain songs on previous albums where he’s dissing his father so much
@alexgarcia76434 сағат бұрын
Yea I checked a lot of other reactors to see what they thought of that part too. I don’t think it’s as negative as people are taking it tho. I had the same situation growing up and my mother said the same thing. Now that I’m an adult with a kid, I know the truth. The only thing that would keep me from my kid would be jail, and that would be on me. So her blaming herself is a natural thing people do when they have no other answers to give. It wasn’t really Tyler’s mom’s fault, she just feels like it was.

I think I finally figured out what I don’t like about this album. It’s Tyler’s voice; he doesn’t have the vocal range to keep up with his own production, especially with the cleaner production on this album compared to Igor’s lo-fi style. A lot of the more melodic songs sound like reference tracks meant for other artists.

Great album- didn’t like it on first listen but realised how layered it is how pretty it is at times - Tyler’s rapping is on point when he’s going for it and I think a large part of that is he’s singing when he wants to so he’s rapping when he wants to RAP - vocal layering was great - just under MBDTF level to me - the lyrics cut into my heart at time with tomorrow and like him - just magnificent all around - gets better the more I listen to it
@intelligencecycle35235 сағат бұрын
Chromakopia is such a great album sonically the topic variety and musical composing doesn't feel like stereotypical beats and rhymes he moreso expressing his vulnerable side, perspective on relationships, his sexuality, Life lessons. The mature side of him especially from Darling I all the way towards Take your mask Off. He's on an absolute tear! Definitely in contention for RAOTY. U can hear the Pharrell Neptune's influence alongside Kanye West inspiration. Alongside Kendrick mr morale leads to a great combination. 9/10

(Like Him aside, cause FUUUUUCK) This is one that is gonna stick in your head and you’ll have an epiphany later on. All that aside, did any one think of Darling Nikki from Purple Rain when Judge Judy plays? I swear I hear Prince when that joint plays.

@sombrashadow00135 сағат бұрын
What I find interesting about this album is that it almost feels like a response to Tyler's last album. In an interview a while back, Tyler talked about his creative process and how he wanted to challenge himself and his nay-sayers. He told his friends that he wanted to record a pop record, and so he made Flower Boy, which had several. His nay-sayers said that he was playing it safe, so that led him to do Igor. To which his nay-sayers said that he can't rap, which led into Call Me If You Get Lost. And now we are at Chromakopia, which feels like a response to the people that said, "All Tyler did on his last album was rap about his wealth and status," as this album is the opposite of that. Chromakopia is incredibly personal, vulnerable, and introspective. I can't wait to see what's next for him.

Ken, a composer is someone who writes music. Non-musical people just don't use that term in modern society, so it sounds more grandiose. You don't have to be writing classical music to be a composer.
@intelligencecycle35236 сағат бұрын
I felt exactly like Beezy it took me awhile for Cherry bomb to grow on me to enjoy it for the listening experience. Probably early on in his career he didn't pull out enough or at least a good amount of interesting flows, cadences or felt as comfortable in a pocket. His singing is limited but i felt the composing and arrangement on his later projects is what I've enjoyed more about him. Which goes straight into Chromakopia.
