That black and white video is one of my favorite surfing video. I saw it long ago. What a wave lecture and style Tyler!

That board looks bitchen'! I once made a windsurfer using that same color. I also made a board with fins like this back in about 1984 - we called them knee-board fins back then. But then I put two smaller keel fins (like you see on kiteboards today) inside of these and further back (as was my design). All the fins were aimed at the nose. The board I really liked had a flat rocker (since I re-used a blank of a longboard I had made that my brother broke). 5' 10" about 20" wide - wide point about 4" forward with an 18" wide tail (winged-fish outline). And a concave deck. I put those keel fins on because I was a power-surfer, and I would blow the single fin on a twin out of the water on the cutbacks. That board was so quick that I once rode a smooth wave on the north side of Huntington pier, where I did a smooth fast kick out, but decided to come back into the wave and got air coming back into the unbroken wave. So it goes - don't believe it... its all good. Keep shaping and pushing the envelope little brother!!

@@sctim123 I weighed about 200lbs, and am 6'3"..... back then. So it worked well for me on the relatively slow waves of SoCal. I had grown up on Oahu surfing Pipe and Sunset, V-Land, etc, etc, etc.
