My analogy for this: Say Sardaco is a seasoned LoL player and Geranimo is the noob and they go bot duo as Leona (Sardako) and Caitlyn (Geranimo). Sardako says: "Any time I cc someone, lay a trap on top of them" Geranimo complies. Next game, Sardako plays Maokai support and engages with W, but he Q afterwards. Geranimo traps where Maokai Ws, but when maokai Q's, the trap doesn't land. Now Geranimo COULD understand Maokai's combo and how he knocks targets back, but Geranimo doesn't since he's only played a few months, so Cait's trap misses. Now Sardaco says: "A good caitlyn would've trapped behind" Sure, that would be true, a good Caitlyn that was playing for years on end and understood every single cc mechanic and displacement ranges, sure. However, when T1 plays Maokai, he roots and WAITS for geranimo to trap, and after trap goes off, he Q's. Is one better than the other? No. But if you're used to one mechanic and no one tells you it will change, of course you'll miss. But for doing what you were told before and missing a mechanic, you are attacked passive aggressively when all you've done was being compliant? That'll shortfuse anyone.

The experienced guy didn't even know that UBRS dragons are immune to ice traps. And then when informed it's just passive aggressive comment 'well a good hunter would' without any explanation of what a 'good hunter' would do. Here's what a good experienced hunter would do, feign death trap the marked mob therefore bypassing the pull of the dragon running over and breaking the pre-emptive trap. A knowledgeable and skilled player, such as myself, would have explained this. Rather than show how ignorant and bad of a player they are by just making a passive aggressive comment. That Sardaco dude is trash at the game. ----- Also, the reason traps randomly break like at 18:20 is because there is a hidden "heartbeat" mechanic. Mobs check for resist every few seconds on CC, so if it gets lucky it will break out early. It's why a mage polymorph is the most useful CC because a mage can easily reapply Poly whenever needed. A hunter's trap getting unlucky and breaking instantly is just shit out of luck while on cooldowns. Still, hunters are tanky enough and can easily kite and slow a mob. Wing clip, conc shot, anything... and stop getting dazed.

Literally non-issue, frost trap has the benefits of being huge aoe slow which helps when mobs start running away from tank. Freezing trap also often resists so you can't rely on it anyway

Geranimo's flame was honestly pretty funny and great but I do feel for his case more. Looking at the VOD he really did do a decent try at kiting to the frost or freezing trap, he even timed his Cheetah stance pretty well with the kite. And the mob was immune to it because no other CC came out and the Dragonkin went over it first. That was under Sardaco's orders and Geanimo played his part as a hunter pretty respectably. That is all without even getting to the part where Sardaco did make a couple of side remarks. I didn't watch all the vod, a good chunk of it but it does seem a bit out of proportion when they say he's been rude ALL dungeon. Either way I see Sardaco far more in the wrong and based flame from Geranimo

The way to get a frost trap on the orcs in this is to have the tank on one side range pull while the hunter has the trap off to the other side and pulls the orc off the tank as the mobs are running to the tank. But you cant expect casual andys to know this stuff.

It's to no one's surprise that those people clear endgame raids easily when they excel at the same time at PVP with their execution. Simply put, Hardcore WOW most egregious causes of death are mechanical mistakes, overconfidence and unfortunate factors. These guys only die due to the latter two. So when you see Zico or Soda dying, they're either trolling running it down or had it in their head that they're unkillable at that scenario. It seems like wow players & league players have fundamentally different cultures. WoW streamers are generally used to bantering with each other fully knowing it's all love as the wow community in twitch is really tight knit (keep in mind there's no solo queue in wow so it's just friend playing w/ friends) On the other hands league streamers are used to a much more toxic environment (solo q) & they interpret banter as being toxic & passive aggressive when playing w/ these wow players ... this has happened so many times now , yamato , glitters , geranimo ... it's just a cultural clash. So going off the clip at 16:52. Geranimo in reality is a mid hunter that I'd expect to get from trade chat. Bad Aspect use, stands on top of a CC'd mob that he had aggro on, bitches about being hit when it breaks but doesn't use monkey, war stomp or anything(he's marks without scattershot?). People saying he should frost trap and pull his freeze target farther are dumb. Pretty sure the assassin can gouge someone as they run past, and gouging a tank on pull would likely kill someone. Should either pull your target with distracting or aimed shot into a freezing trap way up near the pull, this generally can make a 2nd trap easier. The mob you shoot pulls first and WILL be first to hit the trap then. Or if you are doing it their way, wherever the tanks are going to tank in that room, you pull yours to the other side and freeze it, then move away. Preferably so the mob has to path through the tanks to get to you, easy for them to pick up. Sardaco is an idiot and acts like all the private server players did in 2019 when classic launched. They think they know everything and think they're the best at every class because they've played the game for so long.

41:28 it’s not min-maxing. It’s making the pull safer and allowing the hunter to CC a mob to keep everyone alive. It’s essentially the same thing as the mage sheeping a target. Hunters also do a large majority of pulls in raids. Sardaco is likely trying to prepare him for that. Tanks don’t pull trash in a large majority of content. You trap or feign pull becuase the entire group would have to walk up to the mob and be in terrible position. The tank can not walk up alone because there are mechanics that damage based on it hitting a 20-player or 40-player group; insta 1-shots anyone.

People comparing wow to league just haven't raided before. Sardaco could have explained better but in Raids hunters do a large amount of the trash pulls to keep the rest of the raid in position, the tank can't just walk up to a group alone to pull because there are mechanics that scale based on your group size, 20 to 40 for vanilla, that will 1 shot you in 20-40 man raids. Sardaco either figured Geranimo knows this, or it's so ingrained from raiding allot that he just didn't consider telling him how to pull. In vanilla WOW there is already an efficient way to do things. There's allot more at risk and invested in high level "vanilla" WOW so you can't afford to just limit test for the sake of it like league. Raids can take days, a few hours each day, to do and it involves 25 to 40 people. A league game in high elo is like 20-35mins, it's on a way larger scale than league. It's like the military vs the boy scouts. You can afford to take more risk in the boys scouts cus the scale and risk is way lower, but in the military they've already figured out the most efficient method, for the most part, to do something so you just need to get in line. People new to wow are calling it minimaxing but it's because they don't know how raids works.

No i haven't done any raids. Ive barely done any of the level 60 dungeons, but the ones i have done. Ive forced people to basically do full clears and do the safe thing everytime. If you're not smart enough to play like that in hardcore. You're either bad at the game, or you dont mind dying for content.
