I think you can use "Plane at Angle" and enter 90 degrees to create the same plane you did with surface. Great video by the way, I enjoyed it very much and learned a lot too.

Yes. That is what I’d use to creat a plane using only a line.

Another gem! This kind of rattled my brain a little too. Keep up the great work!👍🏽👍🏽💪🏾

I missed something at ~2:54. How was your sketch plane determined??? I watched it over and over, but I don't understand.

Thank you for this breath of fresh air Tyler. Been looking for a two colour print to try out on my Tenlog IDEX which has been doing mostly single extruder work. There is a serious shortage of interesting two color STL's But then again I am mostly into practical or technical part production and prototyping. Sadly I am out of white PLA and so the yellow will have to do for a first attempt.

Another method to get the plane at the correct angle is to use the three point plane"" command between the top of the angled line and the edges of the inner polygon at its base.

Plane at 90º angle on that angled line gets you the plane we need right?
@TylerBeckofTECHESPRESSO Жыл бұрын
If I am understanding your question right...The calculated angle then goes up at 90 degrees yes.

@@TylerBeckofTECHESPRESSOThat was meant for the question you asked if someone knew a better way. I also found and easier way to do the initial sketch. 🙂 Can't share images here tho.

Very nice! But at t=1:54 in the movie you choose to create a second pentagon that has twice the base as the initial - you did not explain why you chose that value. Any other value would not work, as there is some math hidden behind that choice. I challenge you to construct the football based on constrains alone, without using any trigonomie. Are you up to it?

Great tutorial! If I want to make a certain size ball, say a 17" soccer ball you think when I make the circles for the curvature if I use the radius of 8.5 inches on the inner circle would that work?
@GuidoHendriks1990 Жыл бұрын
Do you happen to know why you need another pentagon with base*2? All makes sense now except for that part.
