Thats what I use for. Thanks for the yet another great tips on Sweeps

Nice. Which printer do you use?
@Markevans363013 жыл бұрын
Yup, lulzbot Taz 6. I mostly cnc or laser cut though.

I do cnc (Joe's hybird 4x4) and an Artillery Sidewinder X1 for 3D printing. It's nice to use one software solution for different disciplines!

Sovol SV01. It's like a Prusa bred with an Ender 3, and has the good things of each.

You're amazing, I'm learning a lot from you and a couple of books I bought, but when I'm stuck you're my salvation.

Was not aware of the Single Path Sweep. Ideal for compound curve matching an aircraft fuselage. THANKS!

Thank you, it was exactly what I was looking for. I tend to forget some specific Features because I don't use them so often - but then I need them and I remember it is possible but I don't know how anymore

That wood profile you did enlightened me! Like I could actually 3D print a picture frame lol. Actually never considered that! I love the videos, they've been super helpful with my transition from SW to F360 so keep'em coming! :)

Great stuff. You should do a video using the loft command. To show the differences between loft and sweep

Do you have a video sweeping on a non-planar solid Body made by thickening Splines?

Great videos Tyler, keep it up. Subscribed!

Awesome video! Is there a reason not to just default to plane on path at the start point if you want to do a sweep? That seems to always be perpendicular
@TylerBeckofTECHESPRESSO3 жыл бұрын
I think I showed the standard planes to keep it simple for beginners if that is what you are asking...can't think of reason not to do that! Great call

Can you sweep between a loft? If the geometry changes from one plane to another along a path?

Created a frame using profile and rectangular sketch as path. Worked well. However, how do I slice the frame at the corners to create four new components from this one component frame?
@bradnelson35959 ай бұрын
I believe that you could sketch a profile at each corner (to mark the location of a "splitting" plane) and use the Split Body command for each corner, doing this one at a time. After all the splitting (presumably doing so four times) you should end up with four bodies that you can then select individually and "Save as Mesh" to make each stl file for 3D printing. Good idea making a picture frame.

Wow, thank you! Who are the 2 turds that gave this a thumbs down? I saw the cable rope, tried to think how to do it and decided it would be too complicated, then you solved it in 2 steps! Thanks for helping me understand this command!

Ive got a simple problem. I have a vertical flat surface and I put a circle at the top of the wall, and a circle at the bottom of the wall. I ran a nice arc from the center of each one and can sweep it but the ending is jagged. I just want this new tube to be flush to the wall at top and bottom on the ends where the tube meets the wall.

One problem I have is that my origin display disappears. It's checked in the display box and the eye is on, but it's not on. Makes it very difficult to choose my second plane. Any ideas?

I found the plane along a path to produce a body that was most like what I was expecting to get from a sweep. I would enjoy seeing you do a comparison of the rope that you produced with the sweep and a rope produced by using plane along a path. This would illustrate the capabilities of both methods and why a designer would chose one over the other. [ I found the plane along a path to be a bit lacking and unable to be rotated. Is it possible to twist the body after it is extruded? Are there other strengths or weaknesses? ]

Tip #11: You can also do 3d sketch sweeps. In the Fusion settings: General, Design, Allow 3d Sketching of lines and Splines. You can make your straight lines with control points, and attach a plane to the line as in tip #10. Then, you can select points in your control node and move them in 3d space. I went ahead and made a video! Not as high quality as yours, but I think it shows the point. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bnqkh3yir9Onppo

#7 you flew way too fast at the critical points of drawing each part on a different plane. I was trying to figure out what happened (what planes) at 0.10x speed, I couldn't :(
