for any of my z-man products I use an EWG and tie a keeper at the bend of the hook that will prevent the plastic from sliding down. Aaron Martens has a video where he ties it with a weed guard.

Smart. I’ll have to try that!

Only my gremlin slides down the rest of my z-man plastics don't slide down

Looking forward to trying this, thanks for the review! Regarding using the gremlin on a free rig, i typically use braid to fluoro on mine, would you recommend a mono leader or perhaps straight braid in order to get more "float" on the gremlin? Or does it not matter?

I’d think it’s a pretty negligible difference, I like straight 12lb fluoro on casting gear and it seems to work well

@@TylerBrinks Thanks for the response, I love the zman products and use the little TRD on my free rig, have also used the SMH worm (Brian Latimer's).

Hey Tyler: I am planning to try the Gremlin on a light wire 3/0 (a canadian favourite: VMC 7311). Would (why would) an unpegged tungsten worm weight be inferior to the ring weights you showed? Friction?

I use both bullet style weights and ringed and free rig weights depending how I'm fishing. Typically a free rig is deeper fishing for me and the ringed weights allow bait to fall more freely than a regular bullet weight. For most shallow cover, I use a bullet weight and standard Texas Rig to pitch to cover.
