Lacrosse is an Indigenous sport that's been played far longer than hockey has even been a thought. As a former Lacrosse player, in my youth, I can attest it's a fast-paced, high impact sport. You should watch a match some time!

7:52 That situation is very normal and not at all uncommon. In southern Alberta in the winter the area is hit by particularly warm winds called a Chinook. It can turn a bitterly cold winter day into shirt and shorts weather within a few hours and can disappear just as fast. 11:09 It is tradition with the NHL that each member of the winning team is entrusted with the cup for a week (not the actual cup, but a replica presentation cup. The original is too fragile and too big for that now though it used to directly be entrusted) and drinking chocolate milk from it is one of the tamer things done.

Funny to see the part about polar bears and the law - and the cartoon bear is brown. Polar bears, of course, are famously white, which makes it seem deliberate for some reason, rather than a mistake. Before we got our maple leaf flag, we flew the Red Ensign.

If I remember correctly, the "less gravity" area is because the land is still recovering from the weight of glaciers in the last ice age.
@davidleaman6801
@davidleaman6801 2 сағат бұрын
Rebound Effect: During the last Ice Age, the Laurentide Ice Sheet, which was extremely heavy, covered much of Canada, including the Hudson Bay area. The weight of the ice sheet compressed the Earth's crust. When the ice melted around 10,000 years ago, the crust began to slowly rebound, but it hasn't fully recovered yet. This "rebound effect" reduces the mass in the area, leading to lower gravity. Mantle Convection: The Earth's mantle, a layer of molten rock beneath the crust, is constantly moving due to convection currents. These currents can drag the Earth's continental plates down, decreasing the mass in certain areas and, consequently, reducing gravity. This process also contributes to the lower gravity in the Hudson Bay region. I love AI.

I think #20, the happiness scale, should be taken with a grain of salt. Happiness is subjective, for starters, but also, when doing these surveys (these "studies" are self reported surveys), culturally polite people will often claim to be happier. I know that Denmark, which is listed as #3, gets used as an example of how much better they are doing than other countries, but they also have very high rates of diagnosed depression, and some Danes will even tell you, they will say they are happy on these surveys, because they don't want people to think badly of their country.
@maryannkeena
@maryannkeena 2 сағат бұрын
Northern countries may have more depression because of the very short days of sunshine during the winter months. Add to that being inside more than out and active and you have a recipe for depression.

You are right about the 2 national sports. It used to just be lacrosse, which was invented by natives before settlers came. When I was a teen there was an effort to have it changed to hockey. Proponents of the change argued that hockey is much more popular and when people think of hockey they think of Canada. Lacrosse proponents argued using the historical aspect and that it acknowledges the native peoples. The government's solution was to have a national summer sport and a national winter sport. Everyone was happy.

Santa lives at the North Pole and if you write a letter to Santa. His postal code is HOH OHO and he will answer your letter if he is really busy sometimes one of his elves will answer.

Yeah I don't know about the definition of ' uninhabited' but you are correct that there are various settlements, and small town spread out in Northern Canada. The comment about 'Saint-Loiuis-du-Ha! Ha!' is real, but I then realized the Trans-Canada route shown of the map is wrong. It should show the town of Rivière-du-Loup. 'Saint-Loiuis-du-Ha' is on the road between Edmundston NB and Rivière-du-Loup. The Trans-Canada then turns left to head up river to Quebec City, and in Montreal.

Uninhabited means we try to not destroy our boreal forest. Which is 28% of the world’s boreal forest. We also have 20% of the world’s fresh water. We pride ourselves on our natural beauty and resources. Lacrosse is our official summer sport and hockey is our official winter sport. The Stanley Cup was awarded to the winning amateur team by Lord Stanley, the Governor General of Canada. It has been lost many times by the teams. Once it was left on the side of the highway. Tyler it only stands to reason that Santa Claus is Canadian. Four countries are trying to claim it but because of Hans Island between Greenland and Canada which has a continental shelf that runs under the North Pole these two countries would probably have the greatest claim to it. And he was right, because all of the other countries flags with a claim in the Arctic have red white and blue flags, Canada is the only one with a red and white flag, also his postal code is HOHOHO. No other country with a claim has letters in their postal/zip code, ergo Santa is Canadian.😁
