I absolutely agree that everyone should have to work in customer service at some point. Once you see how horrible customers can be; the anger, hostility, unreasonable demands, and general condensation - you know better than to ever act like that. You also understand the value of being a customer they actually want to help. It makes a difference. Also - never go off on the drive-thru order taker. The person actually making your order can hear you and we stick up for each other.
@MrRockIsAwesome6 жыл бұрын
cetkat I've never worked a service or retail job, but I get pretty pissed off when I read stories about rude customers. I just don't get why some people think it's ok to treat service employees like they're inferior to the customer. I suppose it has something to do with human psychology.
@Pigzrkewl6 жыл бұрын
+MrRockIsAwesome i think it's just the fact that employees are SUPPOSED to be kind to the customer and please them because that is their job, but too many people take advantage of that. people give attitude, yell, and curse, knowing the employee can't do anything about it because then they'll get in trouble/lose their job.
@MrRockIsAwesome6 жыл бұрын
Pigzrkewl yeah, that makes sense. They're just seeing how much free stuff they can gain by being demanding.

Worked in food service for too long but the McDonalds by me is ran and employed by slobs who constantly fuck up orders and the wait times are unreal for simple shit. I was told my order is being prepared "fresh" lmao it was chicken nuggets and fries. You drop that shit in the fryer and it takes maybe 5 min max but I waited 15+. Sometimes the workers are just as shitty as the customers.

My experience with McDonalds: I started at 16, worked there for around 6 months. They only scheduled me on weekends, which was fine. The teenager employees were fun to work with, we always did our job. The managers were absolutely horrible. They stood around and nodded you around. They yelled at you if you made one mistake, but didn’t train you how to it right. They would gossip about eachother, and not let you talk with the coworkers even for a second.

The phone vs front desk is so true. It's always easier to help people when you're talking to them face to face and they're usually nicer. I work at a university and sometimes students get upset, sometimes it's a fault on our end, sometimes it's something on their end that has caused the situation, but it's usually easier to help them talking face to face. I don't know if it's because you are able to have a better conversation, if it's because you're now a person instead of just a voice over the phone or the fact that they've had to drive out to campus and had time to calm down. Probably all combined. But I love my students. 😊

Ya the other people who work there aren't as nice as they are in this video. If you stop doing dishes or whatever for 1 second to tie your shoe you will have 3 people yell GET TO WORK and threaten to fire you. And the franchise owners (MUY! Companies in my case) are all "our workplace culture is great". Like, do you even know what kind of methheads are running your store? People are literally managers for drug/beer money because welfare doesn't cover that enough.

I currently work at McDonald's (I've been working there since February) and this is my first job. There is a mixture of nice and mean people, that includes co-workers and customers, but the nice customers and my best friend coworkers make the job worth it. I have come to realize that there is going to be mean people anywhere you go, no matter how nice you are or how good you are at your job, but it has helped me grow a lot and grow thick skin. it's part of growing. I absolutely loved this episode and you Tyler! So humble ❤️

Jacqueline Fuentes what are the hours like?
@jacquelinefuentes20596 жыл бұрын
Isaiah Agyemang it depends on the day really. At least for my store. Sometimes I have long 8-9 hour shifts, but then there's days where I only do 3 hours too. Either way it's really tiring.

I started working at McDonald’s about two weeks ago and I absolutely love it! Making the food is really fun, assembling burgers is a blast, and the people I get to work with are really nice! And the best (and worst) part about it...my mom is the store manager.

that is so true, i work in a store and people can be so rude, so when i go somewhere i always try to be extra nice cause i know what its like. (My first job was cleaning the rooms in a home for the elderly.)

Love this! My husband has worked at Wendy's for over 10 years. I think its definitely influenced his character. People always look down on fast food workers but they're not all lazy teenagers. He takes pride in his work and im happy you showed this so positively.

Alex Cedeno it all depends on the store. Yes, it’s stressful, but only if you let it stress you out and if you apply at a more upbeat store rather than mean one, you’ll have fun! :) i’ve been working since i was 15 and am now 18 and love it
