youtubers: "testing a non stick pan today" they add glues, tape, all kinds of things that stick while its cold. never test food in it. youtubers: "oh look the stuff sticks mostly, guess they don't work" pan's instructions: non stick feature only works when heat is applied to the pan. reminds me of... mechanic: "testing an electric car today" he sits in the drivers seat and steps on the accelerator and nothing happens. mechanic: "oh look the car doesn't go anywhere, guess they don't work." car's instructions: must start the car and put it in drive. glad to see there is someone that knows how to follow the instructions of the product.

my problem with these pans is that the work for about a year, wife kids toss it in the sink, other dishes get piled on top and the pan gets scratched and then eventually just stops working. Wih my cast iron, every so often I just sand it back to smooth metal, re-season it and it's good for another year. The pans I have were made at least before 1959 and are still used daily.. Something gets stuck -- no problem Usually just soaking the pan does the trick but even if you've got to break out the power tools -- it's not going to hurt it.
@steadfasttherenowned2460
@steadfasttherenowned2460 4 жыл бұрын
You aren't getting the pan hot enough. The commercial slide off most likely works because of the Leidenfrost Effect. You gotta get the egg or what ever else on a hot pan so the steam helps lift it from the surface. Even with regular pans. You gotta get just the right amount of heat with oil or butter to get the egg not to stick or grip.

Likewise, Gotham pans don't last much past 2 years and never performed up to the claims. That is why there was a class action lawsuit against Gotham. My favorite pans now are Blue Carbon Steel and my classic cast Iron. Once seasoned properly they are nonstick. And if you damage the seasoning you just clean them up and easily re-season them.

You were curious about what SANS PFOA meant, “sans” is like “without” in french so maybe you got a Canadian pan? PFOA is Perfluorooctanoic Acid, which leads to health concerns with exposure such as birth defects, cancer, liver problems etc. It’s used as a nonstick agent. And the black substance on the pan was probably burnt sugar. You might have had a harder time cleaning the coke off of the pan if you let it actually burn. Caramelised sugar is very water soluble, but burnt sugar is not lol. Hope this clears up a few things, great video!

With non-stick pans, you're supposed to rinse them and let them air dry before the first use and season the surface with a coating of vegetable, sunflower or olive oil.

I don't know how you season a non stick pan with oil, if the oil doesn't coat it. I tried doing that with my new GranitStone pans and the pan just laughed at the oil. NOTHING sticks to them.

I've never bought a nonstick pan that wasn't nonstick at first. The problem with all of them is that even though I only use nylon utensils on the pans, they all always get little scratches and the coating starts flaking off and then food starts sticking when cooking. So I have to throw it out and buy a new one. I wish I knew if there was any brand of nonstick pan that actually lasts a long time.....

A lot of these nonstick pans do great the first time you use them. Over time the nonstick surface wears off because of improper use and/or washing. I think washing ceramic pans in a dishwasher damages the nonstick coating. I've had a small ceramic Bialetti pan for years that I bought at a grocery store. Despite my inconsistent cleaning methods it soldiers on. We use it at least five times a week.

@@robvenom1058 Microsoft Bob (a early comic software designed for children) had message box balloons that popped up with times new roman and it didn't look great, thus comic sans was invented to better suit the application design.
@LavaWaffle1
@LavaWaffle1 4 жыл бұрын
In terms of Comic Sans, the sans refers to "Sans Serif", "Serif" being the ornaments used on more formal fonts. Ornaments are the little stripes seen on fonts such as "Times new roman" and the like. KZbin default font is also a "Sans Serif" font. So, Comic Sans is a Comic font, with no ornaments. Although imagining a "Serif" version of that particular font is terrifying 😄

@T1gerFang IT DOESN'T. Oil does NOT stick to a non stick pan. They are called NON STICK for a reason. Trust me, I tried to season my GranitStone pans with oil...Guess what ? The oil refused to stick to the pan. Only way to coat the bottom is to cover the bottom with oil.
