I've made my own "waterproof" matches, It's pretty easy. Just dip them in hot wax. I've also made some with dryer lint and wax as a "quick campfire starter kit" all of these I placed into sealed containers. I'm a kayaker so having matches that are dry is always good.
@coreythomas6576
@coreythomas6576 4 жыл бұрын
try making a perlite and isopropyl alcohol burner. used a butter cookie tin, some hardware cloth, perlite and alcohol. puncter a couple of holes around the base of the container to let some extra O2 into the device. it works good for heating a coffee pot, canned goods and anything you can wrap in foil and cook. im going to try your lint and wax matches idea.

Search "boundary layer". It doesnt work quite like your looking for. Notice the little "bubble layer" around the hot section? That's exactly why the water didnt put out the fire. The hot burning part & the water never actually even touch each other.

Tyler you should try again and see if they’ll still work after being left in water overnight. Also put a little water in the container and leave it in the sun all day so it gets plenty of water vapor. And just for fun if they’re left in mud overnight and something cool, like Hawaiian Punch, for 30 days
