I was in Taichung,Taiwan for almost 5 months for my internship at NCHU. Taiwanese are very lovely, loyal and super friendly people.I think due to loyalty and quality oriented products from Taiwan international companies are establishing there branch in Taiwan, Facebook Inc. opened its new Taiwan headquarters this year, many more companies are looking forward to Taiwan rather than China. Yes people are moving out to find better job opportunities and lifestyle and its facing international competition and pressure from Chinese Govt.

You missed TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co) - It's ahead of Intel and the world's leading semiconductor company.

No offense man, but you essentially said Taiwan is an Island, more people are leaving than arriving, and they have companies...with lots of pauses. I was in Kaohsiung for an afternoon last month and got more than that from one restaurant. Place is ready to blow up. I don't think the brain drain is going to be a problem in the least, the amount of internal competition is fierce and fair unlike anything I have ever seen. I think it makes Taiwanese employees and Taiwanese companies very competitive internationally. They're going to light it up over the next 10 years. Maybe "Lessons from Taiwan" or "thinking about Taiwan" but I didn't hear any 'inside' 'eye-opening' or 'economy' in this. If you wanted to say something about endurance try ATP, the 38 second gap between breath and delivery, and having the patience to not slow down?
