This MMA stage was specially produced by IU. The letters that you saw in the intro are unknown struggling musicians, buskers and just musicians and singers struggling to get their names out there in the industry. She invited them to share the stage with her to get them out there nd be recognized.

Thanks for reaction. This stage is most magical till the date in mma history. Dear name song has beautiful lyrics if you read the lyrics you will understand immediately the meaning of this stage. These people are fame less or less popular musicians and she shared her legendary stage with them so that they can have a name or can have a moment of fame. As the song has a climax line" i know your name has silently forgotten i will not stop i will shout it several times".

Dear name is a song about not forgetting who people are. At her concert in Hong Kong in 2017 her staff handed out placards to all the fans the said My Name Is and then people could write in their names. When the audience held those up when she sang Dear Name she was so taken she almost stopped singing. The four people who are singing are unknown or little known singers. The last guy is a street performer, the 2 females are backup singers, at least one of the 2 and maybe both are IU's backup singers. The young has just made his debut.

You've got it (the Hong Kong part) almost perfectly right. The Idea came from the Hong Kong UAENAS, IU was caught completely by surprise and was taken by the gesture, took a very brief pause (trying not to burst in tears). Afterwards, during the encore part of the concert, she said she really was about to cry, said there most be a genius between you, finally went down to meet the fans and greeted the girl responsible for the whole thing and she kissed her hand. That is IU in a nutshell.

Dear Name is a song that delivers a message of comfort to all the names in the world. The letters displayed on the electronic display board are the many names used by Koreans, and the people who sing are street buskers, chorus members, and new singers who have just debuted. I understand that this gives an opportunity to singers who are not known to the public. Almost all of IU's songs after 2015 were written by herself, so I recommend watching the lyrics with subtitles.

She is a household name in S.K a role model to all idols and to everyone. She is a Philanthropist. She helps and donates to all charities for the elderly, single parents, disabled, children etc every year since she started making money.❤

In my opinion, "Through the Night" can be almost considered as "King of ballads" in S.Korea, and "Dear Name" is a great ode to humanity. They are all far beyond the scale of general Kpop pattern.

No these are just people. And they are saying My Name Is ...... The sign language is just remembering everyone's name. This is one of the problems of just diving in head first to IU without knowing the back story or meaning of the songs. IU has more songs than anyone I have ever known whose songs have meaning that extends beyond the actual song itself. There are songs whose story span several songs. And when it comes to her MV's the meaning is rarely what you are seeing. In other words she uses metaphors and symbolism etc. For example her song Coin isn't about actually gambling at a casino. It is about the risk she has taken against the odds but that no one is bigger than the industry a lessons she learns when she loses all her money in the last game. But the industry needs her as much as she needs the industry and therefore he flips her a coin to start again. My Sea is about her growing up and coming to terms with who she is. Songs like Eight will really throw you for a loop if you don't know what the song is really about.
