The restoration and maintenance of proven tractors like International, Allis Chalmers, Massey Ferguson, Ford, Oliver, Minneapolis Moline, etc…is something I love to see. More folks can relate to this since most homesteaders & hobby farmers are buying, using, and repairing the classics.

Your videos have really helped me trying to establish my 12 acre hobby farm. I'm waiting for delivery of my Branson 2515H (I understand TYM and Branson are the same company now). The 2515H has a bucket lift capacity of 2000 lbs, far more than that of the comparable "Green" and "Orange" compact tractors. The Branson dealership seems very good for service too. Keep the videos coming!!!

I have the RK 37 which is a TYM and I love it so far. They seem to be just as well built as any of the top main brands or better than some. I do envy your cab, mine is an open station. I've read that TYM uses a Bosch style mechanical fuel pump instead of the fuel rail common to most tractors today. This allows you to delete emissions and the engine is none the wiser. That's a big plus to me as I know lots of farmers that refuse to buy anything made after 2015 because it's a PITA to deal with. Also mechanically driven fuel pumps seem to be much more robust and DIY repair friendly instead of having to have a dealership program a replacement fuel pump. Support right-to-repair in your state! Farmers today already face too many challenges and there are too few of us small guys left as it is. (By design unfortunately.)

I have a 4 year old TYM 394 w/backhoe. It has been a great tractor requiring nothing other than scheduled maintenance. I tax my tractors probably more than most, the 394 has been excellent and I would buy another without hesitation. As far as the American / Foreign comments, some of the best compact tractors I have owned are John Deere, and I still have both matter of fact. A JD 850 which turns out to be a re-labeled Yanmar tractor, and a JD 355D which is powered by a Yanmar diesel. Both are 30 + years old, and are put to work weekly. This time I did not pay JD to private label my tractor.

What do you think of the T474 compared to your T394? I am stuck in between which one to go for it would be nice to have the kukje diesel however you spell it lol. But the slightly smaller design would be nice in the T394 and that is why I originally got the T264 but I know now that it is too small I have put 230 hours on it in a year it has done great just need something bigger.

As someone whos driven no tractor made after 65 I can't help but wonder over the electronic lift control system. Just why is it used? Is it to simplify the hydraulic system or is there some killer feature I haven't thought of? And is there a simple reason why they uses buttons for the controls? Wondering as I remember that on those old machines I could feather the controls if I wanted to go slow and careful when lifting or tilting the bucket. Seems like that wouldn't translate well to buttons. I'm sure I'm missing something here.
@ronsommer9409
@ronsommer9409 3 жыл бұрын
It is easier to run wires than to run rods and levers. Levers would bring noise into a cab. Buttons can be on the seat arm rest so the buttons are easily reached. Over 100 hp tractors have all gone to electric over hydraulic.

TYM is sure climbing right on up in the tractor world! I briefly looked into them, but there isn't a single dealer within any reasonable distance to me, I think that dealer support is more important than the brand it self. Any tractor can and probably will go down at some point.

Yes have a friend has one that has pto seal & oring. Dealer he bought it from is no more. Called TYM to see if he could get the seals direct shipped. Said he has to have part ordered by dealer. On new equipment, if you spray a yellow circle around all the grease fittings, it makes it easier to spot them in the future. Also useful for second owners who may be unfamiliar with all the locations. Some machines use the same fitting for oil bearings as they do for grease bearings, so if you don't mark those differently and you later get it wrong, then you'll have to tear it down to fix it.

I don't plan to ever buy anything that requires DEF again. I recently sold the only thing I had that required it. Luckily I don't need that large of a tractor.

I disagree about the size of the tractor I have a RK55 and it works great and I also have a Mahindra 3016 both tractors work perfect on my 136 Acre farm but that's just me

cool....but how many acres of open land are you mowing with a 6ft brush hog? I'll tell ya having the larger machine is much nicer. You can run in little circles for 50 hours on a 55 hp machine or 4 hours on a 110hp....at the cost of those 2 tractors you cold have bought a big boy....however..I will say that having a mid sized machine is also great...I got by with a JD 5065E for several years before upgrading

I'd still remove the air filter and at least check it, blow it out even though no alarms were going off.

@@freedomfan4272 I hate seeing this joke. Deere cost no more than the rest and what other manufacturers have as many dealers? Supply parts for all the years Deere does? If you have a 1923 or a 2021 Deere you can either get a majority of the parts or all of the parts from them. No one else does that plus you also have to look at resell. No shot at tym but no resell there at all, your married to it because it's not going anywhere.

Even though its not US made anymore. I still agree, prices are just too high with the issues that come with it.

Got a JD 5055E. Tractor made in India, has a US JD motor. It's a no frills, bang for the buck workhorse. No horn. Every dollar you spend is in engine/transmission/hydraulics. Ask me 5 years from now how it's going....

when it's muddy...I avoid my pastures...however....cleaning your equipment prior to service is always a good idea. See a farm covered in mud and a total mess....you'll meet a farmer who hasn't figured out a low impact way of managing his land....low impact...better soil..better forage/crops...better product from the farm
