additive pcm sampling is what the waves are ,an advanced system as used first in the DW series with higher quality burr brown dac , and no filterresonance , still an impressive instrument , probably not bettered by korg themselves , d50 and m1 were such good buildquality

i think the time window to replace the battery without losing patches is about 10 seconds on most synths of that era with about 7 years of battery life

Nice vid! Don't forget when working on electronics/computers to prevent Electro Static Discharge (ESD). Wear a special purpose ESD wriststrap and no clothing with nylon in it. Read about it on the web. Discharges can happen without you noticing it! It will cause long term intermittant errors and you'll do more harm than you wished for. If you have nothing on the subject, place your electronics on a wooden workbench, touch the earthpin of your walloutlet shortly before each time you touch electronics and also watchout for nyloncarpet when doing this a home. It is often overlooked... Need not to say, but still do; never touch battery edges or gold-plated connectors with your bare fingers!

I would like to extract the keys from my M1 to get a minimal master keyboard with only midi in a low-weight case. Du you have an advice how to to that? will the midi section work without all the rest? thanks

Hi Trevor...nice video.. I was having a problem with a sticky C key and was wondering if the contact spray would suffice or if there is a was to lubricate the key to stop it from sticking ...it's C4 by the way...thanks!

Hi Trevor , Great insight and vid for the korg m1 , One of my keys had died( B flat) I had to change the battery anyway, so when i removed the rear casing lo and behold the thin top metal key piece thats soldered to the long pc board has broken off ,can this be fixed hopefully??as my korg feels incomplete .

This was gorgeous when it was brand new back in the late '80s. Internally looks far better than the Kronos. No generic Intel Atom PC motheboard here all with the unused network ports and all.

Hola tengo un korg m1 se tilda a penas lo enciendo y queda todo el tifmpo tildado pero si desconecto una o las dos fichas de las teclas enciende normal

use a ESD bracelet, and remove static electricity , just touch a heatingelement Before you touch curcite card pcb in side
