Good morning Tony, nice to see you back in the train room. I know you and Laura have been out and about this summer, hope you've enjoyed your travels. I'm sure Sid is happy seeing his office and ticket office coming along. I do like the way you've constructed the drawer units, and they look very effective. Also the ladies cubicles when the decorations are complete its going to be a very smart station. The electrics should be fine, you've worked out your needs ,and that 12 terminal block should be just fine. Looking forward to following the nexr stage. As for Anne and myself, we've had a busy start to the summer holidays, as you know i took the boys to Torquay United the weekend you were in Devon, followed be the Surrey lot, down with us for the week, we had the kids for a few days thereafter then took them home, we've settled into a routine of looking after the kids a couple of times when mum and dad are in work. I really don't know how i had time for a full-time job. Looking after the family takes so much time. Anyway I've pratteled on long enough. Take care both an exhausted Eddy and Anne. Xxx

Good morning Eddy & Anne. we had a great weekend in Buckfasliegh its such a lovely area Devon. we had a day out to Brixham Harbour. and found a vinyl store which is very rare these days. so yes things have quieted down at the moment and i am managing to spend the odd hour and there back in the railway room, still its not as much as i would like. but we are getting there. now and again we do just need to put our feet up. and take some well earned time out. stay safe my friends. cheer's for now Tony. & Laura.

"The construction of your main building is progressing well. The Station Master will be very happy in his new office. However, I'm facing issues with trains derailing, particularly with the front bogie veering onto the adjacent track when using Hornby crossovers. This problem has occurred with three locomotives. To resolve this, I have added three thin copper washers to lower the front bogies. While this solution has worked for two locomotives, one of them still experiences sporadic stopping and starting. These challenges are to be expected when owning a model railway. Keep up the good work on the construction of the main building. Martin (Thailand)"

Hello Martin. i am pleased you have sorted out the issue of your derailments, my P2 cock of the North had a similar issue. i have done the same added a couple washers to front bogies. and there has been no issues since. touch wood. thank you for commenting stay safe my friend. Tony.

Dear Tony, hope you and Mrs. T. had a great time on your outdoor adventures. To be very honest, I did check every week if there was a post from the North Eastern. To make up for it, I just watched some reruns of some of your builds, always am amazed to discover some new stuff. In the meantime I’ve kept myself plenty busy. Now, for the marvelous interior decorating of the Tyne Dock Station! Think the superlative ‘beautiful’ is very appropriate. Love the simplicity of the ticket office desk design. Master carpentry in cardboard in 1:76 scale. Love the wallpaper in Sid’s office. Yes, maybe it would have been smart to do it before glueing the construction together. Nevertheless, the looks are truly splendid. Love the way it adds to the scene in one of the last shots, through the open door and window. Think the fairly empty pattern is excellent, definitely gives the impression of the wallpaper’s presence, without becoming overly busy. Recently saw some 1:16 scale diorama work in an exhibition. There were some very interesting pieces there. But even in that much larger scale it seems important when modeling interiors to give the impression rather than the full to scale translation of, let’s say, a photographic example. Where the wallpaper becomes too detailed it blurs the eye, maybe I should say my eye. However, when that rule of thumb of giving the impression is in place, like with the wallpaper in Sid’s office, it adds depth to the scene. Even adds a sheen on the window panes, which will become even more visible when all the sections are lit. Looking forward to seeing those shots. Cheerio

I very much enjoyed reading your comment Vincent. as its probably one of the longest to appear in the comments page. this build is hopefully going to end up on the same par as South Shields. even though it will be over shadowed by the bigger station. it will make a great back drop. that is the plan. so we shall see on the one. decorating the insides does enhance the lighting in some ways depending on the colours used. when trains pass by the station it will be interesting to see how the final out come will look. until then my friend stay safe. cheer's Tony.

Sid will be wetting himself when he sees his new office mate. Looking really great even at this stage. Thinking about how to bridge the gap between buildings; could you drill a couple of small holes in each end gable and use a small diameter metal rod to conduct the current through the roof of the verandah? These could be part of the roof trusses. Keep on enoying your guys summer. Arthur
@TONYNORTHEASTERN2 ай бұрын
Good morning Arthur. you have read my mind sir. i did do something similar with south shields. but i had used rails back to back to carry the current across form one side to the other. and that worked a treat. so yes a great idea you have there. until next time stay safe Tony.

Hi Tony, do like the concertina construction method of the ticket counter. You really are a pro on fitting out the insides of these buildings, it seems to have become infectious. But that’s the nice thing about the hobby you can do as much or as little as you want and enjoy doing. And of course viewing afterwards. Great to see a building nearing completion, lights on, running water next? (Ha ha). All the best Stephen
@TONYNORTHEASTERN2 ай бұрын
Yes, absolutely Stephen. Little or as much detail as you want, as you know when you light up a room there needs to be something in there. otherwise what the point of putting lights into these buildings. running water is a nice idea, but who will turn the taps on. I dare say the Vicker's Wife will be asking Sid if she can keep some of the workmen's washing in ther draws before Harry Trundles comes to collect it. Quite a difficult situation, by all accounts according to the Vicker. Depite all of this ballyhoo, Elsie Tanner has suggested to Mr Eastern that he and Sid could have a jolly with Mrs Simms on a coach journey to Butlins, on the South Coast. They can all share some cockles and jellied eels, washed down with some home made stout, purchased from Honest John's Lock Up, under the arches near the station. Then enjoy a few rounds of Kariokee, and bingo, at Butlins.
