Hello from 🇨🇦 Fascinating story of women working in the shipyards. My mam was born on the Tyne in 1908, at Dunston. She told me a lot of stories when I was growing up about the Tyne. Her father & sister & 6 brothers all served in WW2.

Heroic efforts by the men and women of Tyneside showing their indomitable spirit, which, though bruised and battered, still lives on. What a brilliant video.

I am English, seventy years, travelled around this, formally Great country, and found the best people to be in the northeast. Super video, the women are brilliant, trying and grafting, for a cause, that maybe was wrong. Thank you for the good work. Peace be unto you.

Martin, maybe you should expand a little on your phrase, "trying and grafting, for a cause, that maybe was wrong".

Your enthusiasm comes across really clearly.....just a tweak, where you refer to HMS Lion, you have a picture of a damaged HMS Kelly, which fits really well with your narrative on repairing damaged warships, which could be a separate episode for you ?😊.

Well that is something in my brain I never thought of before. The Tyne shipyards fixed the battle damaged ships! I walk the Tyne constantly from end to end, so much to see, love the shipyard history and just never once has it popped into my head that them ships had to be fixed after strikes from the Germans, by the locals of the Tyne! Always learning :)

My Dad was an electrical engineer by trade. He tried to join the RAF at the beginning of WW2 but was sent to work in the shipyards at South Shields helping repair and refit ships until the war was over. Without these facilities and those working in them we'd be speaking German.

I'd rather be speaking German than Urdu which you will all be speaking in less than 100 years in UK.

Why do so many commentaries be done by people/AI with no apparent entusiasm for their documentary ! So annoying ! This is one. He is reading it like a script for a doctors prescription, so flat & boring . Sorry but it does put one off !

I’m sorry you don’t like it Billy, I am quite a monotonous speaking person, this is something I am working hard on to overcome but it does not take away from my passion from the subject. I will keep working on it. Thanks for the feedback 😊

Give us a link to something you produced Billy, and we can see how interesting you are? I think an apology is in order.

Billy O'D .There are few things harder than to successfully record yourself, either video or audio. I have a KZbin channel, and to make a video can be daunting, but if you believe in what you are recording, it is always worth it. As Christian D remarked, show us what you've done; and then you can maybe comment upon another's product!
