To whoever made this video, thank you. My 2 year old daughter is obsessed with the metro, and since we can't go on it at the moment due to the ongoing coronavirus situation this video has been on constantly throughout the lockdown. Not sure we could have made it through without it! Thanks again. PS The scene at 00:08:02 (kzbin.info/www/bejne/gIPPi5KNpJuhq8U) where the train is purportedly leaving Kingston Park is actually a shot of a train leaving Fawdon. I only noticed this because I have seen this video about 3,000 times in the last two months.

There is a Rowntree factory at Fawdon .. a few years ago there were pictures of some of the famous sweets that were made at the factory .. the fruit pastilles were my favourite .. and still are.

I have never seen the Metro, so this splendidly prepared, shot, edited and narrated video has been a real education. Thank you for every minute Greetings from locked-down regional Victoria, Australia.

Thank you, not only is this video pleasant to watch and very informative, I have not been home to Newcastle for over 3 years, so seeing this is a much needed "dose" of home. Thanks again!

9:37 and elsewhere: It's "FOUR-dun" not "FAU-dun" - as can be heard on the announcement. And at 11:37, the line crosses the former Fawdon Wagonway route before entering the station from the west, not leaving it as implied here. Sorry to nitpick your wonderful video.

Would love an extension to Washington via the Victoria Viaduct if they could make it possible.

I think you made a mistake when you described Sunderland station's platform layout. Here's a correction: Platforms 1 and 4 are regularly served by Northern, 2 and 3 are regularly served by the Tyne and Wear Metro, and when Grand central trains arrive, they take up half the station, like 1 to 2, and 3 to 4, although they are often displayed on the departures board to serve Platform 2 or 4. Regardless of that, thank you very much for checking out our Metro system.

Fantastic, enjoyed this, having watched your Yellow Line video yesterday :o) Just a couple of pronunciation corrections, as a Newcastle chap: Ponteland is pronounced "PonTEEl'nd" with the emphasis on the 'tee' sound. Fawdon is pronounced as "forden" (the 'w' is not voiced).

How do you get the outside shots of the metro

8/10 for a great video (two points lost for the dirty windscreen.) 🐨🇦🇺

I made a few Metro films and never found a clean window .. the trains go through a washer every day I think, but maybe only the sides.

There is no link line between Jesmond and Manors. The lines you show are dead ends and both just sidings.

Fabulous video and good informative narrative but you did make me laugh with your attempt at pronouncing Ponteland and Stanhope 🤣🤣 (Pon- teal-lund and Stan-uhp)

I made a few Metro films and not once did I find a clean front window .. the trains go through a washer every day I think, but maybe only the sides get a wash. The driver has a windscreen wiper, but the other front window .. nothing .. just dirt
