Love your videos, Eddy! I lived in the toon for a year from 1993-1994 and your videos help refreshing fond memories from Newcastle. I learnt to love the Geordie dialect during my stay and I don't find it difficult at all. I managed to attend a couple of matches in the autumn of 93. I will never forget watching the lads beat Sheffield Wednesday 4-2. I immediately liked Andy Cole and his great supporters song "...when he gets the ball he scores a goal..." Fantastic! I really hated Man Utd for stealing him from yous! Can't believe how you walked into him before the cup final a couple of weeks ago. Him being a Man U "legend" makes me puke...Sorry! I fondly remember Chris Waddle from that match, even though he played for the owls. Andy Cole stole the show for me with his two goals. I also fondly remember how an extremely furiated supporter ran down the aisles shouting abuse at the ref for a poor desicion. I'd never seen that before - coming from a remote small town in Norway where people didn't normally shout loudly during matches. 🙂 As for the statues... I remember the Jackie Milburn statue was stood in Northumberland street, wasnt it? Very fitting to have it placed at St James' Park! A statue of Kevin Keegan? Well, why not? But it's probably like the sculptor hinted, he has declined. Keep up the great work, Eddy!

Alan Shearer is obviously a class act. Many famous people (an non-famous for that matter) whould have written back, incensed that someone had got thier title wrong, but instead he sent a "polite response". As always another entertaining and informative video - thanks! I only had a very rough idea about the origin of the seahorses on Newcastle United's emblem and forgot they were also on Newcastle upon Tyne's coat of arms.

Disappointed to hear KK may have declined a statue, but we have to respect his decision. Maybe one day in many many years after his passing he'll have given his permission. For me surely they could do something for him whilst he's alive? What he did for the club , as a player and manager needs recognition IMHO. I would like to see something in place for Gary speed , Christian atsu , cheick tiote etc I lovely angel statue with plaques on maybe ? Great video again.

I think the whole of level 7 should be named after Keegan. It was built on the back of his success, and it is level 7, which was Kevin's number, of course. The Leazes Keegan, The Milburn Keegan. Has a good ring. Better than level 7. Or generally, I sit in the Keegan.
