One thing that really frustrates me about the subject of Diabetes is, how many people out there aren't aware of, & don't even believe, either. That there is such a thing as TYPE 1.5 also. 1.5 is what my maternal grandmother had years ago before she died in 1991 at 72 yrs old. I've called the Diabetes Association & told them about my grandma having this & that I'd certainly appreciate it if they would start advertising this Type of Diabetes also. So far, no luck. Just like those who have 1 or 2 alone, Type 1.5 is just as dangerous too if & when it isn't found or treated, either. For those who aren't aware of what Type 1.5 is, The most straightforward description I can give is this. You have just as much symptoms of Type 1 as you do Type 2 Diabetes. You can wake up extremely low & fall asleep with it dangerously high. It reminds me of myself & my grandma whom when we both started in our early years having thyroid problems. We would go from hyper one week & be skinny like a rake to hypo the following week & have actually gained 50 or more pounds without ever eating differently, more or less, changing exercise routines, etc... Our metabolism in our bodies changed that much & that quickly too. No joke, all fact. When my grandma got older & started having diabetes symptoms, they had a hard time determining if she was 1 or 2 & that's because she had both. She had just as much of Type 1's symptoms as she did Type 2's symptoms. She was 50% of each. Back then, they didn't know much about how to treat someone with both where I live. So, grandma ended up with Gangrene, amongst many other issues too as a result of untreated thyroid problems, etc... I really would appreciate it if doctors out there would make videos like this one about people like my late grandma who had Type 1.5 Diabetes. It really needs to be advertised & put out there because, there could be many people out there who are unaware that they are like my grandma was & a friend of mine who is now in her 50s with it also. More people need to become aware of this issue too, if we want all people to be treated fairly, & for their bodies to be able to fight & be given a fair chance at life too. So please. Would you mind doing a video that explains to all people possible that my grandma's problem was & is a real problem & not some story that I made up as may people think? Too many people even medical professionals don't believe that this problem exists. Thank you very much for your time & help in this matter. It's greatly appreciated by us all. Take care. Marie Sparling from Iroquois Falls, Ontario, Canada.

Hey! I’m a 12 year old female. I am worried I might have pre-diabetes, or diabetes itself. My whole life, I’ve eaten unhealthy. Because I’ve never gained weight ever before, I never was able to keep track of what I was eating, by the motivation of weight loss. Every time I think about the fact I might have diabetes, I go into a panic. It leaves a sick feeling in my stomach, I’m just very scared I might have it. My parents aren’t the best help, whenever I try eating healthy they act like it’s the most shocking thing they’ve ever seen, and make a huge deal about it. Like even if I just order a water instead of a soda, they are like “Really? Water, are you sure?”, and it really makes me self conscious and embarrassed about it. They make it so awkward. My father thinks you can only get diabetes if you are overweight. That’s completely bogus. And my mother is always eating unhealthy. She’s been told by her doctors that she may become a diabetic in the near future, but it doesn’t change the way she wants to eat. And it’s not being a great role model for me. The past few weeks I’ve been trying to eat nothing but beneficial foods, but because of my whole family and how they eat, there is almost NO healthy food in our household whatsoever. Maybe an egg, banana, or a few pistachios, but I want variety. I don’t want to eat the SAME exact thing, over and over. I’ve tried getting them to get more healthy things at the store, but they only seem to buy these things for me, and in bulk. I am a 12 year older girl, and I don’t eat a lot. So when they do get beneficial food for me and they say “I’ll get this for you, but you better eat it. Food isn’t free, so don’t let it go bad.” And get food in bulk, it puts a lot of pressure on me. I feel like I almost have to force myself to eat these things because there’s always so much of it. It’s like they almost guilt trip me into finishing what I “made” them buy for me, even though it is for my own benefit. They always tell me to eat healthier, but they eat just as bad as me, if not worse. I’m not asking anyone to do anything for me, but I just wanted to ask for any advice at all. I want to eat healthy, but I don’t have a lot of options to actually consume. If anyone could help in anyway at all, it would be greatly appreciated. I’m scared for my future and how, IF my body is even going to develop healthy. Thank you.

@elisez478
@elisez478 2 жыл бұрын
Hi, first of all, don’t panic😅. It’s going to be ok. I think the best course of action is to sit down with your parents and communicate with them on how you are feeling. Tell them everything you said here. That you are worried about your health, your diet, and suggest that maybe the whole family can work together in starting to eat healthy. Tell your mom it would be beneficial for her too since her doctor told her she needs to make a change in her diet as well. Ask them not to buy so much of the food in bulk. When eating healthy, you want to eat fresh fruit and vegetables and cut back on the processed foods. It’s important to let them know that you are not “attacking them” with these different views you have on eating; you genuinely care for your and their health. Another thing you can do is not eat after dinner until you are ready for breakfast the next day. This will give your body time to process all the food you ate that day and can continue eating away at your stored fat. You can also cut out the snacks during the day; every time you eat you are spiking your insulin. And of course, drink lots of lemon water- there are so many benefits. Good luck!🌸

@@elisez478 Thank you. Since then, I’ve been drinking nothing but water and plain milk. I’ve been having breakfast only when I really need it, and if that is the case I try just having a banana and a glass of milk instead of cereal. Today I actually woke up not hungry at all. I think that’s actually great because this is how I can start my new year. Not eating after 8 pm, and not eating until 12 in the afternoon the next day. Those are the intervals I’ve always heard are the best times. Thanks a lot. My mother is proud of me for wanting to be healthier. And when my dad points out random things about how he’s confused because I’m not even overweight, my mother tries stepping up for me, saying “We should be very proud of her for wanting to be healthier.” And thanks for replying. I really appreciated your input. I’m glad I could start change at such a young age. :)

@@zsartchannel5646 that’s wonderful! I’m glad your mom has your back. Another thing you can do is look up foods that are low on the insulin index. For example, if you want to eat a healthy breakfast, you could opt for eggs, bacon or sausage and a little bit of avocado instead of the banana. Have you checked out Dr. Eric Berg’s channel here on KZbin? He has a lot of great content that could help you out~

Thank you. Everything sounds correct here. One point of confusion is "weight loss with IR/IS". What? Really? Usually and predominately, people with insulin issues have weight gain, and that is without medication, not weight loss.

Im sorry but I Have a mystery that I'm told is impossible 😔 yet happens everyday. I know this isn't the place to ask but I'm nervous about it. I started to test my sugar after a day of dizziness, sweating, shaking, not being able to connect my thoughts ect. Friend checked me my sugar level it was 40. Nice ugh i hadn't gone without food that day. She gave me a few slices of bread and I felt much better within a half hour. Anyway got myself a test kit and noticed that my sugar drops AFTER I eat! I test 1 hour after a meal , morning and before bed. It rarely goes above 90. I told Dr because I wanted a test for diabetes. He told me it's impossible for my sugar to drop like after eating. If this is diabetes I need to catch it now. Is this a symptom of diabetes? I'm really nervous. I do have increased hunger and urination constantly swelling legs and pins and needles feelings in legs and hands 😪 thinking I may need to change up my diet just in case. Can't hurt anything I guess.

Chromium: "Chromium" is important in carbohydrate metabolism. Chromium allows the body to break down sugar, secrete insulin, and keep blood sugar at a normal level. Chromium controls hunger and is essential for GTF (glucose tolerance factor). Chromium improves body glucose metabolism due to its role in the composition of the GTF molecule. Chromium reduces the need for insulin in diabetics and is useful in the treatment of Type 2 diabetes. Chromium is useful in the treatment of insulin resistance, it reduces insulin resistance. Chromium contributes to energy production through "Adenosine triphosphate" in energy production metabolism by improving glucose uptake into body cells. Chromium improves insulin sensitivity in type 1 diabetes patients, normalizes insulin production and increases the number of insulin receptors. Chromium deficiency causes an intolerance to sugar. Chromium deficiency causes diabetes. Phosphorus: "Phosphorus" ensures the use of carbohydrates and fats by the body. Phosphorus is involved in the storage and use of energy. Copper: In diabetic patients, glucose intolerance may occur in copper deficiency. Many diabetics have copper deficiency. Copper deficiency has been found in many diabetes 2 patients. Cadmium: "Cadmium" creates imbalances in sugar levels. Sulfur (Sulfur): Sulfur is a compound of insulin, and when it is insufficient, it also creates a deficiency in insulin. Sulfur facilitates carbohydrate metabolism. Sulfur is found in the chemical structure of the vitamin Biotin. Biotin is a vitamin that is also called vitamin H or vitamin B7 in the literature and is often called "beauty vitamin" in current news. Biotin, whose chemical formula is C10H16N2O3S, is a water-soluble B-complex vitamin. Biotin, which is also produced by the bacteria in the large intestine, is an important vitamin necessary for a healthy life. Biotin is a coenzyme in fat, protein and carbohydrate metabolism. At the same time, biotin contributes to cell growth and helps to keep the blood sugar level at an average level. Biotin is essential for healthy nerve tissues as well as being very important especially for the bone marrow. The biggest reason why biotin has recently been called the "beauty vitamin" is its positive effect on hair and nails. Biotin is necessary for the conversion of carbohydrates and fats into energy. Lipoic acid contains biotin in its composition. Alpha lipoic acid is beneficial for people with type 2 diabetes. Alpha Lipoic acid accelerates the healing of nerve damage due to diabetes. The use of lipoic acid in patients with diabetic neuropathy caused by antioxidant deficiency improves blood flow to the nerves and can stimulate the fission of nerve fibers. Magnesium: "Magnesium" helps prevent diabetes and keeps sugar levels under control. Magnesium reduces the need to take insulin in type 1 diabetes patients. Due to its role in the production of magnesium, adenosine triphosphate, it facilitates the conversion of intrinsic glucose (blood sugar) into energy and weight loss in the obese. Manganese: "Manganese" deficiency can cause diabetes. Manganese is an important co-factor in the key enzyme of glucose metabolism. Manganese helps stabilize blood sugar. Manganese plays a role in the formation of fat and carbohydrate metabolism. Glucose tolerance may be impaired in manganese deficiency. Nickel: "Nickel" is very necessary for diabetics. Potassium: "Potassium" helps to improve diabetes by increasing the conversion of glucose to glycogen. Potassium is effective in insulin release. Potassium helps prevent insulin resistance. Selenium: "Selenium" helps in lowering elevated blood sugar in diabetics. Sodium: "Sodium" is the major anion (negatively charged ion) found in intracellular fluids. Prevents sodium acidosis. (poisoning state resulting from deterioration in the acid/base balance of the organism in favor of acid, especially the acidic state of the blood in diabetes), Sodium stabilizes and neutralizes the decrease in blood pH due to diabetes or any other reason. It is an activator of galactosidase (Beta galactosidase, the enzyme that breaks down lactose into glucose and galactose) and amylase (the enzyme that breaks down starch). Vanadium: "Vanadium" has important functions in carbohydrate metabolism. Vanadium, together with sulfur, lowers blood sugar and improves glucose uptake in diabetes 1 patients. Vanadium, together with sulfur, helps in the treatment of diabetes 2 patients by reducing insulin resistance. Vanadium mimics the effects of insulin, reducing the body's need for insulin. Vanadium increases the sensitivity of the body's insulin sensors.

@GunzHam I also have PCOS and the most effective way that has worked for me is basically not eating red meat instead eat lean protein such as Fish, chicken, Turkey etc... Also cut out the sugars and replace them with fruits but be careful with how much you are consuming. Also make sure you are drinking plenty of water. I personally drink only water and finally the most important one; workout. I was able to actually drop weight by weight lifting. Trust me if you follow those things you will Certainly see results. Good luck!
