Hi, thanks for the videos, I'm finding them really useful. Just to check, doesn't NICE recommend ARBs as first line anti-hypertensives in people of black African or Afro-Caribbean heritage?

Hey Jessica - you're completely correct :) Apologies for the confusion but thanks so much for pointing that out. Yes, ARB's generally are first line in Afro-Caribbean patients.

@@sihemcharefdjennadi8858 Yes true, but think the question was in context of diabetic patients requiring anti-hypertensive treatment. ARBs have a far better long term reno-protective profile than CCBs.

jist a question please. if patients have ckd or renal failure with hypertension then do we still start them on ace inhibitor regardless age and race?
