Awesome show. Just didn't understand what happened in the end. Kenny was having problems with his guitar, Peter threw his bass at Sal (why?) and came back to say something on the mic. What did he say? I only could understand " ..... at this club. So forget about, that's it........ You hurt my feelings I am playing no more"

Pete didn't like touring, hated being far from home, and didn't want to give up his job at NYC Parks Dept. After Bloody Kisses started to take off big, Sal & Pete argued bitterly about hitting the road (Pete only wanted to do regional shows, only leaving for 3-4 days at a time, but Sal thought they should be thinking bigger), but Pete was stubborn, so Sal hit the road on Life of Agony's tour in 94. The irony is that Pete changed his mind only 4 months later and quit his job to hit the road.

Sal was so much better, a human metronome and smooth/fluid. They lost something live with his departure, especially if you like the slow groove gothic songs.
@mellodge9 жыл бұрын
***** Fucking couldn't agree more. It was the same when he departed LOA the first time. It's not just his fluidity tho, it's his sense of rhythm; he can take a big left turn and make it sound awesome, he puts fills, rolls and breaks in all the right places. Very under-rated drummer in the metal world.
@FenderGreg9 жыл бұрын
You homed in on it. I grew up a Rush fan and those left turns contributed greatly to my becoming a TON cult fan. You nailed it, his work on the first three is vastly underrated and I never hear much talk about the drop off with Kenny. He is a good consistent drummer, but has no distinction like Sal. He was badass in this one.
@FenderGreg9 жыл бұрын
Imo, Sal was a groove drummer, Very fluid, like Jimmy Chamberlin. He carried songs, Kenny never could match the dynamics and intensity of the slower classic Negative.
@mellodge9 жыл бұрын
His work on Supermassiv and My Mortality is also awesome.
@mellodge9 жыл бұрын
***** Sal wanted to do the big tours and Peter didn't. That's why Sal left. Then they decided to tour and Sal was like WTF! Had it not been for TON timing Sal might have been in TON for years after which is a real shame. I always hoped he would go back.

@@ericmeadows9477 Yeah, these songs had been written for over 3 years at that time. The album "Slow Deep and Hard" was originally released as a demo called "None More Negative" in 1990 under their earlier name, Repulsion. So there was plenty of time for the New York scene to get to know these guys.
