Reacting to Green Man by Type O Negative (from the Album October Rust) & analyzing the meaning of Peter Steele's lyrics through his psychology, personality, philosophy, and personal experiences and discussing why he was called the Green Man and what the mythology is behind the archetype. Petrus Thomas Ratajczyk, known professionally as Peter Steele, was a heavy metal musician, singer, and songwriter. He was best known as the lead vocalist, bassist and composer of the gothic metal band Type O Negative that released multiple albums including Bloody Kisses, October Rust, World Coming Down and Life is Killing Me. They had several hit singles including Black No. 1, Christian Woman, Love You To Death, Cinnamon Girl, Everything Dies, and September Sun. Before forming Type O Negative, Steele had created the metal group Fallout and the thrash band Carnivore. Steele passed tragically passed away in 2010 - he was only 48 years old.

"A midday sun, its caustic hues refracting within the still lake" Lyrics like these paint such a vivid picture and this song is a great insight into Petes mind. October Rust is probably my favorite album of all time it's amazing

It's so hard to pick a favorite!! Some of my absolute favorites include "World Coming Down," "Nettie," "Burnt Flowers Fallen," and "Die With Me." These stand out to me because of the rich melodies and wide range of Peter's vocals. But it's too hard to pick a favorite. Oh! Cant forget "Haunted!" 💚🖤💚🖤

@@psychologyofrock 1st item on menu : I Don't Want to Be Me video. Hilarious firstly, and really surprising vocals. Dulcet Gravy are the first two words that came to mind, make of that what you will. Guitars were groovy, drums were not of the AK-47 variety for which I am grateful. Yeah, I liked it a lot. 🤘😎👍 I'll try another tomorrow ✌️💖🎼

I think him acknowledging the wiccan friend is a bridge between the Catholic faith, which stole so much of its symbolism from the Celtic pagan religions when they were in the process of converting the heathens to Christianity, which more often than not was violent. I see it as his peace offering💚 He had a foot in both worlds.

🫶Noah Sebastian/Bad Omens reminds me of Peter and some of Type O Negative's style. The sadness and despair in so many of their songs. Noah may not have the bass in his voice like Peter, but damn, that man can sing. 🤘
