It does have G-sync, just a different type. Basically, Nvidia started handing out G-sync "compatible" certifications to monitors that have VRR (variable refresh rate AKA a-sync) that is included with almost all monitors. Freesync runs on this VRR tech, and even though it doesn't have an official certification, it should work just fine and show up in your Nvidia control panel. There is almost no difference between this VRR G-sync and the G-sync that runs on chips.

There is a big difference. Hardware G-Sync allows for variable refresh rate to work at frequencies as low as 1 Hz. "G-Sync compatible" operates in the standard FreeSync range with a bottom end of 48 Hz.

Cool to see someone else do in-depth reviews like this. I feel only Monitors/Hardware unboxed does these kind of in-depth reviews of gaming monitors. I would like to suggest two things. Change your video thumbnails, so it is easier to differentiate if i have seen this video or not. My other suggestion is reviewing the phillips momentum series monitors. They are seriously everywhere, but i havent found a good in-depth review :)

Someone has probably informed you at this point but PS5 doesnt support 1440p monitors and will actually go to 4K rez then scale down to 1440p. Would not advise 1440p until Sony finally fixes the 1440p mode in a future update.

@@RudyRecendez From the PS5’s home screen, head to ‘Settings’, which can be found in the top right-hand corner. Select ‘Screen and Video’ and go to ‘Video Output’. You can then select whether to enable or disable 120Hz output under 'Enable 120Hz Output'. If you're not sure, you can double check your PS5 is capable of outputting 120Hz in the Video Output Information. Under ‘Information for the connected HDMI device’ you should see 120Hz showing up in the list of supported refresh rates.

I hope you found out in the span of 10 months, but if you didn’t here’s how you do it… 1.) go to display settings, 2.) press “Advanced display settings”, 3.) press “Display adapter properties”, 4.) press “Monitor”, 5.) look for “Screen refresh rate”, 6.) click “60 hertz” then look for the desired hertz option and press apply👍

⁠@@aidenmoses5556I can’t find advanced display settings on my menu for this same monitor. I was able to change the resolution from 4k to 2k on my ps5 but it’s still at 60 hz. I’m guessing you’re referring to changing this on a PC, though.

I’m no expert so forgive me if I’m wrong, but I saw on Amazon, it depends on the port you plug it into. HDMI is 144 while some weird one (I’m assuming pc cause I never use pc) is 165

It's likely that Dell originally bought monitors FROM KTC, with the only difference being a special branded case. So no knock-off, just cutting out the middle man. Dell and most other shiny name-brand Western companies like them are nothing special really.
