I mean you “can”. Sure. Word of caution about piercing the outer skin, (even more concerning)…the roof. Be sure to have a good plan for sealing

The wood end socket doesn't look like holds the 2X lumber very snugly. Just what I need, another rattler noise maker in my van for removable shelving.

@@1turfguy Perhaps you never owned a work truck. Even with wood screws, shims and epoxies, the E-Track brackets themselves become a constant noise maker in such a situation.

@@gtb5216 Perhaps you live in a country where a 2X4 is actually 2"X4". To make a of piece hardware that doesn't fit any lumber size on the market is a pure engineering/marketing failure... just sayin!
