The man was tall enough Why don't we say that (tall enough) is a subject complement as function? Someone can clarify it,please?

i thought that i understand everything here but you made me confused now with this question hahaha. anyway i think in this phrase we focus on the head and bcz the head here is Tall which describes the man. and the man is a noun before being a subject then its going to function as an ADJ. ME too i didnt understand what i wrote here hahah i will ask about this and comeback

We have two types of subject complements: Predicate nominative(It has basically a noun as complement,eg:he is a lawyer) And we have predicate adjectives(which is the case you’re asking about) Which consists of an adjective as a subject complement. So to sum it up subject complements can be nominative or adjective.

'the man' is a complete subject 'was tall enough' complete pridicate 'man' simple subject 'was' simple pridicate 'tall enough' subject complement ( 'tall' adjective 'enough' adverb) 'tall enough' is the pridicate adjective of the subject 'man'
