At the corner is it pp acts as adv?
@zahraemahmoud7687
@zahraemahmoud7687 3 жыл бұрын
Thank u, the last phrase is adverbial not adjectival , at the corner is the phrase ( we live at the corner) we live where ,we live at the corner ,it modifies the verb live not the corner ,the word corner is a part of the phrase itself
@AhmedElrhazi
@AhmedElrhazi 3 жыл бұрын
You're welcome Zahrae...if it functions as an adverb then it's adverbial phrase, since it answers the question of place (where). The rule is correct though I might have paid less attention to the phrase. I hope my lessons are helping you

What is different between gerund and participle . Could you please help me with that . And thank you
@elkhadymhammou813
@elkhadymhammou813 3 жыл бұрын
Gerund phrase functions as a noun in a sentence,but particple phrase functions as an adjective.for instance .reading books is his hobby. In this sentence (reading books)it is Gerund phrase used as subject.Removing his coat,ahmed went to the river. (Removing his coat) is participle phrase modifying noun Ahmed and functions as adjective.
