I have the same model L322 that was throwing a CEL with code P0171, P0174. So I changed the PCV valve or crankcase vent valve. Now it's blowing thick white smoke, and there is oil in the intake as well. So I pumped it out, but it still blows white smoke bad. There is also a smell of burning plastic. Do you think that part of the diapram from the old valve could have got sucked in through the crankcase? I'm at a loss, it was driving beautifully before I got those codes and started messing with things. It looks like I need to pull the manifold and find out what's really going on with it.

So I ran some Seafoam through the intake vacuum and it burned the rest of the oil off, no more white smoke. Problem solved.

Hello sir. I hope all is well. I have a 2013 Range Rover Evoque. I recently got oil change. As soon as shop was finished, they started my vehicle and it IMMEDIATELY filled garage with the thickest white smoke i EVER seen. There is also a burning smell. They are trying to blame the vehicle and saying it is a coincidence. They told me to drive vehicle on expressway because they thought it was spilled oil from oil change. I have parked vehicle for last 4 mths while still paying note on it. They gave me a UNIVERSAL DIAGNOSTIC but i now have money to take to Foreign Mechanic shop for PROPER DIAGNOSTIC. 1 last detail, it profusely leaked out ALL THE OIL while parked. Does that sound like PVC issue or something more destructive? Thank you

could be a leaking exhaust system, blocked EGR, failing fuel heater. you need to check those items, or clogged Cats as well.
