Sir in molecular emission spectroscopy why we use 2 monochromators?
@zerocramchemistry16103 жыл бұрын
Actually one monochromator will be used for selecting or filtering light for excitation and other monochromator for filtering the light emitted exactly by the sample itself. Emitted light is slightly high in wave number or low in energy as some amount of light get desipated in other forms of energy such as vibrations of molecules etc.
@zainabsharif28863 жыл бұрын
But sir why we didn't use 1 monochromator for both excitation and filtrating of light.
@zerocramchemistry16103 жыл бұрын
@@zainabsharif2886 actually with single monochromator either you can use it for filtering either excitation signal or for emission signal. Both processes can't be carried out at the same time. 2nd excitation signal or energy required for absorption is different then energy emitted during emission. As during emission some part of energy is dissipated in other energy forms along with light such energy consumed in molecular vibrations or heat energy. So emitted light is slightly less in energy (emitted signal) then energy absorbed (excitation signal). Therefore due to this slight difference in energy we use different monochromators and they are set at different filtering wavelengths.

In atomic absorption spectroscopy we used hollow cathode lamp as a source of EMR that produce light of exactly same wavelength that an analyte absorbs then why there is need of Monochromator in it?
@zerocramchemistry16103 жыл бұрын
Yes, there is very much need. As we are using flame for production of sample atoms so flame light might interfere. So in order to avoid it we are using monochromator

Sir why we use monochromators in atomic emission spectroscopy. While In atomic emission we measured the amount of light emitted. Then why we need to filter the light by monochromator
@zerocramchemistry16103 жыл бұрын
Actually we have to measure light emitted by sample, but there is also stray light (due to room light or flame, or light emitted by other matrix elements), so we have to filter that light from that of analyte light, so that's why we will use monochromator both in absorption and emission spectroscopy

In atomic absorption spectroscopy...phly sir ap ny kha ..flame not excite the atom...bad ma excitation bi ho rhi ha atom ki ??? ?
@zerocramchemistry1610Ай бұрын
Excitation occurs inside the flame region because atoms are present inside the flame, however these atoms are excited by light source which is Hollow Cathode Lamp in case of AAS

@zerocramchemistry16106 ай бұрын
Yes, in Atomic emission flame or plasma energy is used for both atomisation and excitation, while in Atomic absorption we need extra EMR source like HCL to excite the analyte, while flame is used only for atomisation.

Why only in molecular emission we placed detector perpendicular to the source of light but not in the case of atomic emission?
@zerocramchemistry16103 жыл бұрын
Infact in various instruments of Atomic emission, detector is placed at right angle.

AoA. sir ji kia sary molecules hi vibrational ur rotational energy level show krty hain??
@zerocramchemistry16102 жыл бұрын
Yes only molecules do vibrational and rotational transitions as both vibration and rotation is a relative term and it can be observed only in atoms attached with each other. In a single atom these transitions are absent and only electronic transitions are possible.

Asslam o Alikum Sir why we use two monochromators in molecular emission spectroscopy...?
@zerocramchemistry16103 жыл бұрын
In order select both absorption and emission signal only for analyte. In case of emission we first do excitation by first inducing absorption signal. So to send exact that light for which only our analyte excites we have to send very particular light and for that we use absorption monochromator. Similarly after absorption next step is emission. So sample emit light and we want to measure just that light rather than other stray light. So we use emission monochromator just to record that particular light.

Assalam o alaikum Sir; Sir in absorption spectroscopy detector detects either light absorbed by analyte or transmitted light and then take the difference between light source and transmitted light if detector detects absorbed light then how?
@zerocramchemistry16103 жыл бұрын
In easy words Detectors detect change in intensity of light or EMR reaching to it.

Hello sir I have a question, what are the parts/components used in molecular emission spectroscopy? hoping for ur response asap
@zerocramchemistry161010 ай бұрын
Actually Fluorescence and Phosphorescense is included in Molecular Emission Spectroscopy. As our sample remains already in molecular form so we don't need any source of heating. Other components remain pretty much same.
