Morning came and the rain finally stopped so I was able to transfer our camping gears to another camp ground given the muddy and wet surroundings last night.
Heavy rains and strongs winds went on for several days and nights from July 23 to 30, and we did experience living with such incoveniences and discomfort.
Food preparation was hard since movement was limited. Cooking was impossible outdoors as rain would likely fall anytime. Strong winds make it harder to start fire.
Overall, this camping experience has taught me a few important things. Continuous heavy rains, loud thunders, and strongs winds have helped me conquer my fears, to be attentive, alert and mindful of the things going around. This unfortunate event has also trained me to be independent and resourceful in times of unexpected situations.
Typhoon "Egay" has left me with a challenging and unforgetable experience. It made me realize more how things could be so much harder for those who have been seriously hit by such a catastrophic event. At the end of the day, no matter how things get worse, I should not lose hope, rather always reassure myself that there is always a brand new day and that life continues whatever happens.
On the bright side, I am truly grateful that I was safe and alive.
