I feel that Man-yi (a.k.a. Pepito) is a destructive one prior to coming in to PAR praying and hoping that it won’t damage our land so much, and that the local agencies would be in red alert mode and evacuating as early as now.🙏🏻

Thanks again Mr. Speta. Other comments have mentioned Pagasa. They have really become a very good source of storm track updates in recent years, with the track updated at least 6 hourly. You do give a longer forecast, as Pagasa doesn't start until it enters the 'Par', which is rather late in this case of fast moving 'Pepito' approaching us in Leyte/Samar this afternoon.

Pagasa has been monitoring this typhoon since (or before) Monday. I remember because I arranged to have one of our large trees trimmed down early this week. I've been preparing for Pepito even before Ofel's landfall.

An Atty. just blamed PAGASA for misleading information during Typhoon Ofel, clearly she has no idea what the cone of uncertainty means. Also she is only focused on PAGASA and is not looking from other sources such as JTWC and JMA she downplayed the storm and lead to people getting caught off guard showing off some incompetence.

Ya Pagasa put out loads of graphics has press briefings with all the impacts. Not sure how they can blame Pagasa. Those days are gone, Pagasa is not the incompetent agency it was 20 years ago.

@@ChopanRrosba the attorney does not know what “the cone of uncertainty” means because in the forecast their area is only partially hit but the storm’s actual track actually hits their area that is why she is upset with PAGASA and blamed PAGASA for it when in general her incompetence brought them to that situation as she does not know how severe weather behaves.

Water, rain, is being carried by the clouds and the clouds are being carried by the wind and the winds of a storm are like the 8 arms of an octopus where some of the arms of this storm packs more punch in terms of wind gustiness and amount of precipitation. So it's wise to know that not being in the eye of the storm doesn't mean you're in less danger or out of harm's way. Be prepared.

Could you comment on the recent red skies seen over bicol? Last they were seen was before typhoon Reming (Durian) in 2006, November 30. That one caused many fatalities due to lahar flows in Albay, which submerged many houses and villages. Up to 330,000 homeless immediately after.

Will it move more downwards in order for it to exit fast? Most of the Typhoons now leaning towards area to exit fast avoiding mountains and will look near bodies of water to maintain its strength just like haiyan. Any possibilities?
