The apartment is modest and it has clearly been refurbished with new floors, doors, furniture and kitchen appliances. It is interesting to see how the average Uzbek lives. It will be interesting to see the food market.

That apartment in Manhattan in New York City would be over three thousand dollars a month right now. Here in Fayetteville North Carolina it would be over eight hundred dollars a month. (If you are not military here there is a good chance you are poor) For five hundred a month where I live in North Carolina you get a small room in someone else's home. Actually that apartment could be pretty with a few things to make it look like a home and a little cleaning. I thought it was cool when you looked out a window and there was a wedding. Really enjoy seeing how people live in other countries.

Also, the fact that you are grateful for having found this apartment with its great location, A/C and high speed internet shows that you haven't lost your perspective as to what is important in life, mainly gratitude for your blessings. I hope that you will be able to develop a successful business in Uzbekistan and that all will be well for you, your family and your country. Take care and God Bless. 🤗❤🙏🌎

Just found your channel. I grew up in a similar, if not smaller apartment with my mom in Tashkent. The people in UZ are very hospitable and kind, it’s fantastic that you and many others were able to flee there in a time of need. No matter how small or old the apartment is, it’s a lot better than having to serve on the front lines.

I lived in Sweden for awhile about ten years ago. In 1970 they had a massive housing shortage. Soviet designed apartment blocks very similar to this were built around Stockholm area. At the time I was there a remodeled 2 bedroom went for 100,000 Euros. Being from the US it was like a living museum in a way. Odd points - Everything was either reinforced concrete including all interior walls or a strange version of cardboard, that included interior doors and cabinets. Basement storage space was behind a actual water tight ship door. Floor was hardwood with about 6 inches of packed gravel under it. Pipes and most electrical was in conduits outside the wall. One apartment had a lady with 3 GIANT Great Danes, another had bunk beds through out for about 10 people in a 2 bedroom.... Interesting place

You must’ve been to a very different Sweden to what I remember it to be like 10 years ago… the houses are not made of cardboard and neither are doors. Yes, there are a lot of apartment buildings from the 50s-70s but they’re not that bad at all and most of them are kept in good condition. If your place was as bad as you claim, I suggest you must’ve been scammed. This is definitely not the standard.

In Romania an apartment like this is now "stick" to the next door apartment, young couple are bagging the old ladies to sell it for them or they do an exchange. Once they have the both ,the wall in between is tired down and renovation is start .they throw away all the " comunist era stuff and refurbish in scandinan style .total cost of two apartments plus reno reach around 100000 euro ,sometimes even less

What a fun trip through your apartment, and your commentary made me laugh out loud😂 High tech computer chair..giant flat screen TV, brand new couch..😁 I live in a studio and the kitchen and kitchen sink is WAY bigger than mine. I also light my stove burners with the power of thought. Cool wallpaper too! I live in Hawaii and the custom here is also to always remove shoes upon entering. Being shoeless so much leads to having 'Fred Flintstone feet', or 'luau feet' as it's called here. Thank you again for the interesting and entertaining tour🙂

I saw much worse than that when I moved to Boston years ago. Thos places back in 2000 were renting for $1400 a month for studio size places. Now they'll paint it and buy a new refrigerator and rent it for say $2500 a month. One and two bedroom units even more. Then I moved to Toyko to work for a year. Apartments there are super clean (as is all of the city) but they are small to say the least. I mean, so small you can hardly turn around inside. I'm in a nice size high end high rise in Honolulu now and I have to say, the luxury is more appreciated after living in such previous places, although I'm not planning on stating here forever, even if I stay in Hawaii. The main things about an apartment beyond price and convenience (often related to on another) is quality of neighbors, safety of the place (no fire hazards, biohazards/filth, or infestations), and for me above all else.... how quite it is. If those three things are satisfactory it can't be all that bad. I say the same things about hotels as well I guess.

Your apartment reminds me of the first apartment my husband and I had in Miami Florida in 1966. We had a strict budget, but we had a roof over our heads and a bed to sleep in and we were grateful. We even had a view. It was the back alley of a grocery store. The positive thing about it was that we could walk to the grocery store, so we did not need to drive and saved gasoline.

Glad you found a place, loved your sarcasm😁 Enjoyed seeing it. Amazing families are crowded in such small places. I have what is considered a small home built on an acre of land, 24’x24’. I really like my small home, very roomy for one or two but even here more than that number would be a stretch. Such could be done if need be but oh my. I wonder why the washer is in the bathroom and toilet in a closet where washer could’ve gone🤔 Thank you for the tour, God bless you and your sweet family.

It's interesting to see differences in culture through floorplan. The kitchen being in a completely separate area for example vs an open floor plan where the kitchen and living area are in the same space. The toilet and shower in different rooms vs having them together. Little things but indicative of different schools of thought and cultural tradition.

Hello from Wyoming. Interesting to see the apartment, and I've enjoyed learning about Uzbekistan, which is a mystery place to me. You have a gift for teaching and videography. By sharing you help us all learn that people everywhere are just people like us, and that is such a positive use of technology. It makes it harder for the power seekers of the world to dehumanize "others". Your prayers help us give voice to our thoughts and feelings that we have trouble organizing and putting into words. Sending up the prayer is one action we can take. Are you working out? Self-care is important, too, especially in stress. Welcome to the plant-based community!

What the hell is that place made of! The walls are so thin! You better pray there are no more earthquakes and that the wind does not blow too hard! Sticky marks on window is where someone has taped up plastic in the winter to try and keep warm. Yes we do that in the UK too. Houses with old windows. In the 1960's a lot of British high rise buildings were also made of these concrete panels. But yes its OK, you have everything you need there. The hardest thing I found in the Krasnodar countryside was the BEDS. A thin mattress on a MDF board. Hardly more comfortable than a park bench. 😆 The beautiful countryside made up for it though. We went up into the mountains to a "hunting lodge" and on face value it looked better than the first place we stayed which was also very dirty. But the beds were still the same. Thin mattress, on a wooden board. 😆 Russian beds, oy! More comfortable to sleep in a stable with the cows, on straw. Honestly I think you can live better in an old dacha, at least bleach is cheap. Once it is clean so long as you have water and electric you can be OK.

On your latest livestream you mentioned that you did not want subscribers who were coming just because of the 'special military operation' ... but I think you have missed the bigger picture. The world needs more people like you, more real Russians to show them how you feel. To see your genuine feelings is to show the rest of the world how real Russians are feeling about the situation. I tell my friends to watch you and they begin to understand the reality from the genuine Russian point of view ... I found your channel because I was searching as a westerner would ... and you have given me a much clearer picture of what is happening from a Russian citizens perspective. My girlfriend is Ukranian so I know what it is like from her perspective and I know that most Russians are victims of this tragedy ... we appreciate you for trying to get your message out there ...

Just the month fees in my building are a good bit more than $500 a month. $500 a month you are lucky my friend count your blessings. People in the USA are homeless because they can't pay $1,500 a month for an apartment smaller than that.

Depends... some people do. Some might because it's snowy, muddy, etc. Or they might if they are from/in Hawaii. Some Asian families do. Also, people with white carpet enforce shoe rules.. Thanks to your video, we have discovered an Uzbek restaurant in London. it was in a very low key sort of place and it was pure luck that we found it. We went there today but they didn't serve any vegetarian options (they must love their meat there). We are going back one day but we have to pre-book a vegetarian meal. It has dumplings and borscht. The waiter wasn't exactly friendly but helpful I don't know what the Uzbeks are like but he was our first one. We also went to a famous Russian supermarket in London where Tolstroy used to go and bought some beautiful russian sweets and oat biscuits which were a bit like rusks, a bit too hard to eat but we think they should be used as dunkers.

Is it typical to have locks that require separate keys on every door in an apartment?

There is seperate key because those doors are metalic and those are used as main apartment doors not for inside. First time I see something like that. I think it is cheaper to use mfd doors not metallic.

@@TheKrismans No! They made of wood. They are interior doors - the exterior ones are much wider, building code. Very strange

@@INSIDERUSSIA really? Crazy, these doors look the same as my grandmothers apartment doors, but they are metallic. I have never seen these type of doors inside apartment. Nice. Every day you can see new things. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you for the tour of your apartment in Tashkent. It reminds me of my living in the “Communist Condos” in Moldova during my 8 mission trips to Chișinău, Moldova. My friends I stayed with often were a family of 6 living in a two bedroom apartment. Thanks for the memories and your videos. God bless you for what you are doing. From NE North Carolina, USA.

@@INSIDERUSSIA US President Biden is from Delaware, but he’s probably the best paid. In my area, earning $500 per week is RARE! Retail and restaurant workers probably average $250/week take-home pay. In America, only the Working Class pays income taxes. The rich pay no taxes! Loopholes and lobbyists!

Air conditioning and internet - absolutely important. Interesting thing in former Soviets countries windows - no screens. Do they also have no flying insects? I watch people on television shows leave their front doors open all the time and it freaks me out because I'm from Boston and now I live in Florida and the mosquitoes and the gnats and all the little flying biting things that get into your house... It's Not that I'm worrying about sanitary. I just hate being bit or buzzed. Little things flying up your nose, buzzing past your ears, and occasionally also flies. Right now there is nothing flying in my bedroom. I should celebrate. I didn't notice till I brought it up.

No mosquitoes here. Too dry and too hot. Florida is humid that’s why you have mosquitoes and the likes. Here only occasional scorpions that crawl on the walls

Love the carpet. Whole place needs some color added +a good scrub. Paint or nice wallpaper would make a huge difference but for short term rentals the owners don't care. For 1 month this works just fine.
