I’ve long thought he was a real life Xaro Xhoan Daxos from Game of Thrones. There has never been much verifiable evidence he was super rich. Forbes has admitted he should not have been added to their richest list when he first was, because he lied to them about what he owned. He says he’s rich and spends some money, but I would be very curious what a real audit would turn up. We’ll see what happens when he has to pay the piper here.

Sloppy recordkeeping is always interesting to the IRS - DT is always under audit. Why have they not pursued him to date?
